The sound from the speakers on my Amilo Pro v2055 is very quiet despite setting the volume control to maximum. Any ideas why and possible solutions?
Advice much appreciated

Hi, I have an Amilo Pro V2055 which has recently encountered a sound problem. I have no sound coming through the speakers. However if I plug in the headphones sound can be heard very faintly even though the volume is turned right up. Every thing is showing up as working correctly in device manager. I have updated the drivers and rolled them back again. I have even carried out a complete reinstall of Windows XP (SP3). I am assumming it is a hardware problem but may be wrong. Any advice greatfully received. Thanks in advance. GazHi, I have an Amilo Pro V2055 which has recently encountered a sound problem. I have no sound coming through the speakers. A number if things can be wrong with it, from the audil preamp to the the audio amplifier. Even as simple as a bad volume control. Does the actual noise change patterns when you move the volume?
Go to your volume control via Control Panel or double click on speaker icon on task bar and check sound settings and computer volume or check your speaker's volume. Otherwise your speaker at fault.
you can increase the sound by going to start, settings control panel, sounds and audio devices and change the sound volume there.. Or double click the speaker near your clock in the bottom right hand side of your screen
1.check first if you have installed the latest driver for sound card
2.then check if the speaker icon is not on mute
3.check also if the open volume mixer was set up
Hello.... 1 - r u facing NO Audio/Sound issue...? 2 - is ur Volume Control not responding ? 3 - is ur Sound and Audio Device in Control Panel Grayed out ? 4 - Do u get a msg "No Active Mixer Devices Installed....when u try to open Volume Ctrl etc etc ?
if ur ans to any one of them is Yes...then u are being spammed by Microsoft....ur Sound Control IRQ is being frozen by a recent update from Microsoft....and no file update or any sound driver update can fix it, neither Microsoft is issuing any patch to fix it…. Full solution is available in my website (Support page)...it's quite simple process to fix it, and I am not charging any money, just trying to do some service. www+sureshayyar+110mb+com Copy the above address in the browser, replace + with dots....all the best....
have you tried looking at the advanced options in the volume panel make sure nothings muted if you had sound and you dont now i would roll back the drivers or reinstall them if you can play a song and there is no sound somethings just wrong with the settings if the sound was broken windows would tell you there was no device to play back sound with. also when your in the sound options try all avalabl playback devices
Right click the volume control - select open - this will open a larger volume control showing the volumes for each type of sound. Make sure none of the sliders are muted or low.
Thanks, but I've already tried that, and it's set to maximum, but speaker output still very quiet.
Cheers
