The toner cartridges for the 8026 have a chip on them
which count the amount of toner being dispensed from the toner cartridge.
When the
printer counts the amount of toner being dispatched from the cartridge has exceeded the amount of "usable" toner in the cartridge, the
printer will display the error showing the toner cartridge needs to be replaced.
Crucial the printer also "writes" to the chip on the toner cartridge to say it is empty----You can no longer use this cartridge by simply refilling it.
You need to replace the toner cartridge on the
printer with a Genuine New 8026 toner, this should then clear the error
automatically and the
printer will again spring back to life.
If you are using a new toner you may;
- Have a faulty replacement toner
- Have a blockage in the pipe which takes the toner from the toner cartridge to the drum unit
- Have a fault with the toner dispense motor
