SOURCE: How to solve repeated paper jams in Dell 3010 laser printer

Replace the pick rollers. If you're out of warranty it'd be mighty expensive to have Dell replace them, but, if you call them, they can get you access to a website (I can't remember the name...sorry) that has walk through tear-downs with pictures of each and every step. (Only do this if you're handy and have time)

Otherwise, replacement is the next option.

Typically Jams on this unit are from worn rollers. :)

Good luck.

Dell 966 aio printer....paper jam and I cannot release paper from roller. Is there a way to release roller?

Have you read the Manual on paper removal? It mentions a rear panel that can be removed. That might free up the rollers:
If the paper jam is near the paper input tray:
1. Remove the paper tray.
2. Pull firmly on the paper to remove it.
3. Replace the paper tray.
4. Press the Select button .
5. Resend your print job to print any missing pages.
If the paper jam is not visible:
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Lift the printer unit.
3. Firmly grasp the paper, and gently pull it from the printer.
4. Close the printer unit.
5. Turn on the printer, and print the document again.
If the jam is located in the duplex unit or near the rear access door:
1. If you have a duplex unit, remove it.
2. Open the rear access door.
3. Firmly grasp the paper, and gently pull it from the printer.
4. Close the rear access door.
5. Re-install the duplex unit.
6. Press the Select button to continue printing.
If the paper jam occurs near the ADF:
1. Lift the ADF cover located to the left of the ADF input tray.
2. Firmly grasp the paper, and then gently pull it from the printer.
3. Close the ADF cover.
4. Press the Select button .
5. Resend your print job to print any missing pages.

Keeps telling there is a paper jam

This particular 'paper jam' error on the Dell 3110/3115/3130 can often be caused by the paper not being picked up from the paper tray. The printer 'expects' to 'see' the paper pass various sensors during it's path through the printer. Each one has a 'time window'. If the paper is not seen to pass sensors at the correct timings, a paper jam is assumed.

Now - to cure the problem.

Just cleaning the (3 identical) pickup/separation/feed rollers in the paper tray area could be enough (they get a build-up of paper dust - can affect their effectiveness).

One of these rollers wears much quicker than the rest, and gets a pronounced flatspot. Replacement rollers are available via 'that' well known internet auction site.

Can't fill the paper tray up to the fill line. Dell 3100cn says "paper jam," although of course there is none. Can maybe get in 1/4 of the paper it is supposed to hold...any ideas why? The roller seems...

We have 3 of these in our school and they all do that. It jams or says it is jammed if you fill it up to the line. Our only solution is to fill it about 1/3. A pain.
