Cant get any volume on T400 - sound bar is all the way up

If your sound bar is plugged in it is bypassing your TV's speakers the same as if you plugged headphones in your phone you cant hear the main speaker

If it's a new TV, then it might just be as high as it goes. A lot of HDTVs don't come with great speakers due to the small flat feature of the TV not allowing anything better.

You will have to get external speakers for the TV to experience better sound.

I've personally heard that sound bar and they are surprisingly loud and hardly take up any room at all.

I am not completely sure what you mean.
The OS if Win7 is huge and cannot be successfully compressed, Vista is slightly smaller and XP smaller again.
Data could be compressed but it will take longer to expand and use.

There can be many reasons why this happens but one of the common reasons is that your sound drivers are outdated or corrupted,, to fix this problem go to control paniel, hardware and sound, device manager , and in there find the sound drivers, if there is a little yellow signal its because they are corrupted, you must right click it and uninstall, and reboot,,it should fix them. Another problem could be your playback program it doesnt have the codecs needed to play the sound,, i recommend you downloading Vlc Player and playing dvd with that.... One last piece of advice is i recommend checking the volume settings.

Hello you can enable this option(showing volume control in task bar).This is how you enable it.You click on Start button and continue to the Control Panel item of the Start menu,then in the Control Panel window find Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices section, click on it.Then click on Sounds and Audio Devices.In the Volume tab (top line of buttons) you will see a check-box"Place volume icon in the task bar" put a tick on it and click Apply.Now you are done and you should see the volume icon:)

Is the "broadcast-tower" light on (the leftmost icon on the lite-bar below the screen)? Have you got an available/working WiFi router? Have you been able to choose a network to connect to? My T400 works fine when all the above are enabled..

go to start menu -> control panel -> sound and audio devices. you will find volume control. or another method is just click on the volume icon which is located at the right bottom of your windows desktop.

click on start go to control panel
click on sound and audio devices
make sure that the mute option does not have a check mark next to it
and put a check mark in the box which says place volume icon in taskbar
click on apply
then ok
then check if you get a volume icon and do check the sound

hi, you want mute the sound ok, it's easy. After you enter the windows see the task bar it contains more icons and application .In the corner of the task bar you can see the clock or time display before that more icons there you see the sound icons it's like the speaker . Double click it the volume control comes select the first options volume bar and select the option mute all.if you could not get the icons from the task bar . then goto

1. start menu
2. control panel
3. sound and volume controls
4. select the sound control tab

here you can get the voume control tab . after all these process you cant get it please inform

Windows has a volume control built in, look at: control panel, sound and audio devices, volume control slider and check box for "place volume icon in task bar.
