Just click below for convergence repair kit;

http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

Double images and colors are blurry .Blue,red and yellow wave coming up from the bottom of the screen on the lower left and fuzzy images this is a symptom is for busted convergence IC,you must replaced this IC in order that will works better again.STK 392-xxx ICs and it's associated resistor,this resistor automatically change value,can caused truoble even though you change the ICs.If you bring this to a service center they cost you $600 to $700,but if you buy the repair kit you can save more,don't wory it is very easy because there is intallation guide including in the repair kit. Feel free to ask whatever the result... click the link for sample picture guide step by step installation;

Hope this may help;

Very common problem with these set. toshiba issued a repair instruction for this. the bad news is its not an easy fix. what is happing is falure of what is called the hypermodule. ideally it wouldbe best to replace this curciut board ....BUT this is not available. the next thing is what we do at our shop. we repair the board very difficult) it involves replaceing 11 micro caps. very difficult soldering and you can damage the booard.. it can be done just get sombody good who done it beforemy shop charges about 200 because of the labor involved

Sound no picture

Like stated before--May be another bad blub, especially if you used a generic or Neolux one. A phillips bulb WILL work right. Mits sets do NOT like generic bulbs !!

I have a ge 42 inch rear projection tv. The colors are crossed and I was wondering if this is bnecause of the lenses out of alignment? if so, how can I adjust it? there is no setting for alignment.

It is possible, that the type of connection you have to your TV are crossed.

With COMPONENT cables, you have 3 plugs, red green and blue.

If this is the case, correct the plugs location to the correct plug.

Lens alignment results in a fuzzy (diffused) picture.

outside of that I too am at a loss.

good luck and don't forget to vote!!!

Whats the value of a mitsubishi 48 inch tv, model is ws-48511?

this is mostly in the eye of the one who thinks they need one!

12 months of age 60% its purchase price if it is in good working condition
24 months 50%
36 months 25-30%
48 months 10-15%

Beyond that it will be heritage listed and bring twice the price of its original outlay and be sought after by Mitsubishi who will be amazed that they actually made a TV that lasted that long. The average life of amy Mitsubishi and quite a few other modern Tv's is about 3 years before they require huge repair expenditure.
Often better to update wvery 12 months if you can afford it as they are not built to last like the old CRT's that will still deliver on a set top box long after plasmas and rear projections have been retired.

Picture is fuzzy for the first few mins after turning on

This may be an issue with your color wheel where it isn't spinning up to speed at first but finally does after the 2 - 10 minutes. Fairly common in DLP TV's.
This could be fixed by a qualified Hitachi Servicer.

RCA model P60812BL 10 years old picture goes fuzzy once on

Hello,

Your convergence amplifiers are begining to malfunction. This is not expensive However I would advise that you get a qualified TV technician to work on the set due to a chance of damaging you TV if you install the amplifiers incorrectly.

I hope this helps

Picture becomes fuzzy and lined, clears with a sharp rap on the top of case.

probably a bad connection on the circuit board inside that heats up over time. the tap on the top probably moves the connection just enough To make it good for short time.

Toshiba 42 inch rear projection TV

You likely have a bad hyper board.  As time goes on the lenght of time it takes to get a clear picture will increase and eventually the picture will never clear up untill the part is either repaired or replaced.
