SOURCE: I need to reset the ram on a hp pavillion slimline

The DVD drive should have one or two small phillips head screws on the side that will allow you to slide the drive out through the front of the PC. Just be careful that you don't damage the ribbon cable when you do this.

Cd tray won't close

Use a can of compressed air to clean out any dust or dirt, if that won't work! gently pull all the way out to see if anything is catching, if the tray is stiff to move it is out of alignment. Have a computer shop take a quick look at it, may need to be replaced.

DVD tray will not go in

To verify there is nothing stuck in your drive, turn off your computer and try manually pushing the tray in GENTLY and feel if there is something blocking the tray moving. If there is nothing preventing the tray from moving manually push the tray in - start your computer and try it again. Use the eject function in windows explorer and try the retract button again. If teh button will not work try pushing the tray in manually again. Once the tray starts moving in it should automatically retract the rest of the way. If the unit will not retract on it's own by either method then the drive should be replaced.

Cannot remove it from pc there are no screws pc is a hp pavillion

Actually, there IS one screw...it's inside the cover for your RAM. Undo the two phillips screws on the cover of your RAM slots (don't expect them to come right out, they're made to stay with the cover). There will be one screw inside this cover, it may well be a #8 Torx screw. Remove this screw, use a straightened paperclip to open the drive tray, and gently slide it out.
Ensure your machine is unplugged from the wall and has the battery pack removed to avoid risking disaster.

I have a hp dv2000nr laptop that won't boot. Turn the powre on and all the lights turn on but a blank screen with no beeps.I can here the CD rom moving for a moment but then stops.I tried an external...

You could have RAM problems.
Reseat the RAM module/s, they may not be making proper connection. If this doen't work you may have faulty RAM. Take them out and test them in another laptop or get your friendly computer shop to test them for you.

My dvd will not eject on HP pavillion a1120n

You can manually eject the disk by inserting a straighten paper clip into a pinhole that is located in the front tray. Push the paper clip in until the tray pops out.

Pavillion 7995 won.t start

Did you discharge yourself of static electricity before touching the memory? Apparently static electricity can destroy memory. Also make sure the memory is correctly seated in the slot. Also check to see that everything inside the computer is properly connected. I have gone inside computers and have accidentally nudged something loose and as a result the unit would not work. Try a completely different memory stick than the ones you have now. These things are what I would investigate first.
