SOURCE: Won't take pictures

The flashing F-- is addressed on page 123 of your users manual. My camera was also doing that and it was very frustrating. The lens is not being read by the camera. Try cleaning the contacts in the lens and camera body. In my case I had dropped my camera from a very short distance, but it was enough to make the lens not seat right in the body. Have to buy a new lens. Go to a camera shop and switch out the lens and see if it works...mine did. Problem solved.

SOURCE: PURPLE LINES SHOWING ON SCREEN WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TAKE PHOTOS

Your camera likely needs a new CCD imaging sensor. It is a cute little thing and is very expensive to replace. I've seen deals to repair any digital camera on eBay and I would check for a local repair person in your area. You can use the search on this site to see who might be close by. I have an A310 doing the same thing.

Laptop LCD monitor (needs advance help) I have a Dell m5010 laptop that started to display small vertical lines from that bottom left corner going up to the top right corner. I plugged the laptop up to...

Try a different resolution in the monitor to see if that helps. You can do this by right clicking on the desktop and changing the resolution within the screen properties. If that does not make a difference, try searching for updated display drivers either through the laptop manufacturers website or its possible you have a bad controller board for the LCD screen.

Signal degradation across vertical section of

This appears to be a common complaint on LCD monitors. Some LCD screens have control issues.
An LCD screen is the panel and a bunch of Line control chips wrapped around the outer edge. A problem with one line top to bottom or left to right is almost ALWAYS the LCD panel itself.
A problem with a fixed band (The band is in the same place at any resolution) is often the LCD but might be the signal driver chip (A large plastic pack with about 100+ leads). A person with a VERY small soldering iron might be able to resolder it, but they MUST know what they are doing. (board must be heated, lead free solder, eye like an eagle...)
If the band moves around or changes width, it is the signal chip or the power supply to it from the power board.
It can be software if there is a firmware upgrade. This takes a shop.

Buzzing/fizzing noise from back of sony flat screen tv

Below is an image of rear side of your TV, Sony KDL-40W5500
Top right corner is marked there and possible cause of noise seems back light inverter board, there are high voltage going to CCFL inside LCD panel and seems high voltage leakage causing that buzzing/ fuzzing noise.

Replace back light inverter board upon voltage leakage confirmation.
Thanks.

I have a Panasonic TH-50PZ700U, with a green 2'' vertical line in the upper right hand corner. The green line is there regardless of input and is constant. Around the line can have lighter lines at times...

It is the buffer X board. They are loacted at the botton of the set. Replace the one connected to the display panel directly in line with the lines in your picture.

Lines on laptop

If the lines are like static black stains, then that is a faulty LCD panel, with a liquid crystal leak.

If the lines are colored , and come on when you turn on the laptop, that is a problem with LCD ribbon cable or connector, or a broken connector on motherboard or LCD display.

Either the LCD display, or the ribbon connector must be replaced.
To do that you need to take apart the laptop, the repair should be done by a technician.

LP690 projector displaying strange lines

to adjust those mirrors, you need to power down, unplug, remove the top, remove the wires from the main board, remove the main board, adjust one mirror, reinstall everything, power up, see whatever difference it made, power down and repeat until it's fixed. it's quite a chore. if that's not the problem, you'll need to replace the optical engine (which isn't cheap) because they don't sell individual parts.

Maxent 27" LCD Flat Screen TV

This is a fault i have seen with phillips lcd tv's and i suspect it could be the lcd screen itself, the ribbon cables from the screen are heat contacted on to a circuit board and there could be anything from 10 to 15 of these ribon cables and over a period of time the heat generated from the internal panels will deteriorate the plastic ribbon cables.
Try twisting the screen gently by placing your left hand on the top left hand corner and your right hand on the top right hand corner and gently twisting,if the lines go and then come back after you let go then a new screen will be required but it may be cheaper to buy a new one, could be worth buying the extended warrenty.
