Car dies intermittently

no comma's used. wow.

dash board goes dead, everything , radio too?
head lights go dead.
or just the cluster dies. or just cluster back lights in PARK mode.
car runs ok.?

the cluster (if only its bad) has 2 fuses, replace those.
if that dont fix it ,scan the pcm ,
using any scan tool ever sold.

could be a fuel filter

I have a 2000 Altima GXE. My alarm goes off intermittently and sometimes will not stop until battery lead is pulled. Have removed fuse and relay. Please help :)

The headlight switch could be damaged but to disconnect the radio first as some radios that did'nt come with the car may be connected wrong and power is going from the power wire at the radio to the dash light circuirt feeding thouth it to the regular lights. pulling the cig lighter fuse solves the problem points you to this answer.

ok the nissan altima has the same engine as any nissan 240sx from 92+

its a ka24de engine 2.4liter dual over head cam so if they cant find anything under the altima tell em to check a nissan 240sx of the same year.

as far as the car dieing it could be a few things idle air control valve clogged pcv valve wich is stupid hard to replace i have a 95 altima your almost better off pulling out the entire engine. and other things sorry. I cant assist with your main problem but thought id drop some advice.

If the battery and alternator tested fine. I would have the charging system rechecked when engine is hot and at high rpm's. This way the checks are being done as if you were driving and driving for a long time. Alternators can work fine when cold but weaken when hot or stop working. This problem is not rare but only is seen occassionly. Unless it was checked at an electrical shop the average shop doesn't run these tests for they don't see the problem often enough to automaticly run them at all times. sounds like your carb is getting to much air some where check your hoses

It sounds like your battery has had it! IF you can jump start it, try to go to a battery store or a service garage to have your battery and alternator checked. If no other warning lights were previously on, it is possible that the battery just up and died. Otherwise, I would suspect the alternator.
Also, make sure teh parking brake is NOT engaged while driving.

Get the car Scanned for see if there any present CODE.
The code help to have IDEA where or what is the problem.
If you don't want to spend money,
Go to ADVANCE Autoparts, Auto zone autoparts and some of the NAPA's Autopart, they make Computer diagnostic with out charge for that is only a free service.
If they don't found any code. I RECOMEND
Replace the FUEL PUMP Realy. "(MAIN RELAY)."
Because is one of the 90% of the problem with shutdown or non starting conditions.
The relay is located under the left side of the dash. The relay
Is bigger than a regular relay. colour gray. You can get at any autoparts.
