You will also need to download the Dell install/upgrade disc for your 2950. You can reach the correct page by going to support.dell.com and entering the service tag found on the front right corner of your server. Download the ISO and burn. Boot from this disc and insert your OS DVD when prompted. This will pre-load the Dell Perc-5i driver into the Windows installer for you. Be sure to create your disk array first in the controller's firmware!

SOURCE: I am upgrading my windows server 2003 r2, service pack 2 standard edition to 2008 r2 standard and I received this message;

This is informational: Upgrade is done within Windows, though it will reboot. Booting with installation disc is a clean install. Both look very similar.

Make sure to backup data just in case. Good Luck

Hello Jim. What exactly is the file name and extension? Do you have an antivirus installed? If so, disconnect your pc to any network and run a full scan. I do recommend MSE. Hope it helps.

make sure serial port IRQ is enabled in BIOS
ALso make sure you are using x64 and not x32 drivers for UPS

I have tried x2 chassis and working memory but cannot get the full 12gb installed and runniing with Win 2008R2. it only takes x4 2GB sticks. Have tested all sticks in other machines and in same one...
