Try to remove and reinstall the Ink cartridges. Be sure it's lock in place on the cartridge holder. If you still see the error, the printer could be faulty. Call HP if the printer is still under warranty to replace it.

My hp laserjet 2430 keeps showing paper jam on tray 2 but no paper jam there. I have to press the ok button always to proceed. what could be the problem

Step one: Remove any loose paper Remove any loose sheets of paper from the input tray and the output tray.
CAUTION: Do not remove jammed paper at this stage. Trying to clear jammed paper from the front of the product can damage the print mechanism. Step two: Clear the paper jam from the rear of the All-in-One Follow these steps to clear the paper jam from the rear of the product.
CAUTION: Never pull jammed paper from the front of the product. If you can pull it from the rear of the product or the tray, always try the rear first. Pulling paper from inside the front cover can cause mechanical damage to the product.
  • Press the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn on the product.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.

Remove the rear access door. Press in the release tab on the rear access door, and then pull the door away from the product. Figure 2: Remove the rear access doorc00909313.gif
  • Gently remove any jammed paper or bits of torn paper from the rollers inside the product. Use both hands to pull any whole sheets of paper to avoid tearing them.
CAUTION: Use a flashlight to thoroughly check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might remain inside the product. If any torn pieces of paper remain inside the product, more jams are likely to occur.
  • Check the rollers on the rear access door. If rollers are missing or do not turn freely, buy a replacement rear access door. Click here to order a replacement part from HP .
  • Press the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn on the product.
  • Open the cartridge door.
Without turning off the product, disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
CAUTION: You must disconnect the power cord to move parts by hand without the risk of an electrical shock.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Look inside the product to see where the carriage is stuck, and then check for any torn paper or objects that might be restricting the carriage.
NOTE: You might need a flashlight to illuminate areas for proper viewing.

If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Follow the steps for fix HP Printer Carriage Jam

    • Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
    • Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
    • Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
    • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

How to Clear carriage jam on HP PSC 1610 Printer? No obvious paper jam visible.

Dear it's the carriage jam error. so it mean that your carriage is jam not paper. so open the printer where you insert the cartridge. check whether it is jam or what . cartridge carrier is jam kindly turn off the printer and try to move the cartridge head by hand very gently and if seems to be stuck than check for anything which abort him to move freely so than might be anything like dust or else. when you get success in moving the head put some machine lubricant on the rod on which head moves and check it ok.
