Hi,
Please try the following DIY to confirm the part
1.remove the battery and check on adapter mode.
2.If not powering on then check with refixing the battery.
3.if no use then check any LED is glowing,check with taping the num lock and if the LED responds then this is the memory issue otherwise a MB issue.
4.if no light glows then also this is a MB issue as converter board is on the board itself

Found a way : download http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R78742&formatcnt=1&libid=0&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&fileid=103937

Execute and it wil create a folder un c/:dell/

Next ask to update the audio driver and choose this folder. It dit then the job automaticcaly and it now works great.
