Replace the CMOS battery. Power down, unplug the power cord. Open the side of your computer, on the motherboard look for a small, silver battery about the size of a quarter. It will be installed in a holder sitting flat. Get the type number off of it (something like CM3203, etc) and pick one up at Radio Shack, Walgreens, almost any dept. store. Be sure to get the polarity correct when installing the new one or you will get weird results trying to start up your computer.

SOURCE: computer comes on but nothing show on monitor u

  1. Make sure that your monitor cable is plugged into the back of the computer, also sometimes depending on the setup of your computer there can be 2 places to plug you monitor into on the motherboard, if you see another port that looks the same try plugging it into that one and try again.

Cmos battery error failure

The CMOS (BIOS) battery keeps the computer'a comfiguration and the Date & Time settings in the CMOS (BIOS) chip in its memory. When the CMOS (BIOS) battery is flat these configuration information is lost.
Replace the CMOS battery with a new one, in most cases this battery is a lithium 3 volt battery type CR2032 and it is coin size battery 18mm in dia.(check it to make sure the type of battery is installed on your motherboard).
When you replace this battery then go into the BIOS and set the Date & Time etc.

Is your laptop booting on switching it on, ie, it is showing hard disk activity and shows initial boot screen. If yes, while switching on press F8 button very frequently. You will get a screen showing the options for booting. Choose a safe mode option and restore your computer to an earlier date. This may solve your problem. On the other hand just switching on the computer shows monitor with yellow and black stripes, you may have to take it to a service center.

As i turned on the monitor the screen shows CMOS WRONG PRESS F1 TO SETUP PRESS F2 TO LAOD DEFAULT VALUE

hi,
first of all check the main battery back of ur machine by unplugging from the mains power supply. if machine shuts off, then u have to replace the battery.and then set the date time etc by pressing F1. and then save it and exit set up. next it will not ask for F1 or F2.

if the main back up battery is ok, then another possibility is the CMOS backup battery of ur machine have some problem. that's why it loosed all the seted parameters. then u have to replace the CMOS battery of ur machine. normally 3V battery. then set the date time etc by pressing F1. and then save it and exit set up. next it will not ask for F1 or F2.

when you select "new episodes" it will record ALL episoded that have not been recorded already. ALL episoded will record every time the show comes on. as far as then 134 hr recording, it sounds like a manual timer error i would erase it and monitor progress to see if it does it again.

Hi...

When you monitor saying which is no signal this is a monitor port problem. Check your monitor connector if it is properly connceted to the motherboard. That is the only way of monitor saying no signal.

Screen shows message "no input signal" and monitor goes to sleep.

monitor show "no input singnal" error masage when not gating any type of video singnal ,
so if u realy check your monitor wires for correctty plugged in .
then:-

Two possibilities:

either the video/mainboard of the monitor is defective; or
the video card/ CPU is the faulty.

A way to verify is to try the PC with another monitor or to try the monitor in another PC.

My Windows 98 IBM ThinkPad Laptop

These errors indicate that the cmos battery is dead and needs replaced. The cmos is located under the main battery, the yellow pouch with two wires that lead to a connector. You will need to remove the keyboard to get to the connector. Replace the cmos, set the time and date, and you're good to go.

Proview PRO576 error message "mode not supported" and will show nothing else

Okay, we got a fix by having another monitor hooked up to our computer and going in to display and changing the display settings to a lower setting. The screen resolution - turn it to lower - I guess somehow - the setting was too high for our monitor. Don't know how it changed itself though. Anyway, change it to a lower resolution then re-hook up your monitor and see if it works. The reslution can be pushed back up until you notice the problem again.
