It is not the red flap being clogged it is clear. I have cleaned everything i can. The other problem is I tried to use the hand held hose and it will spray out but has no suction at all.

The flow gauge will NOT STOP turning and soap is pouring out on the carpet. I try putting plain water on it so I can get some of the soap up but that just mixes with the soap. I pull the machine backwards and I see lots of soap going up through the machine but at the same time when the gauge should not be turning it won't stop.

SOURCE: Bissell carpet cleaner

The water sprayers on your Bissell are probably clogged. I had this problem this morning, myself, with my machine, about 15 months old. They get clogged up with mineral deposits. This is a *fairly* easy thing to fix yourself. Read all the way to the end before trying this fix.

Unplug the Bissell. Remove the water container pieces from the top of the base. You'll probably reveal two red plastic pieces mounted in the Bissell's base, about .75" x .75". These spray water on your brushes when you press the water-and-soap trigger at the top of the Bissell's handle. These water sprayers tend to clog. See the metal spring running up the hose, behind each red water sprayer? As you squeeze the red plastic sides of one red water sprayer, use a screwdriver or other tool under the spring to wedge up the hose, to release the sprayer from its mount in the base. Stick a finger in the hole of the base of the Bissell where the sprayer was mounted and run it around the edges there including on the underside of the base to clean out any gunk you can find. Clean any gunk you can off the red water sprayer with an old toothbrush.

Now you need to remove the water sprayer from the hose. You need a pair of pliers. Use the pliers to squeeze the brass colored clip that is keeping the red water sprayed mounted to the end of the small hose there. Move the clip down the hose so it compresses the spring and is no longer on the red plastic water sprayer. Now you can twist and pull the red water sprayer out of the end of the hose. You'll need a little hand strength to do this. Just be careful not to break the water sprayer by using a tool. They're not particularly delicate, but breaking one would render your Bissell useless until it was replaced, so use a little care.

When you've removed a red water sprayer from the hose, put the outer end of the red water sprayer in your mouth and seal your lips around it, and try blowing through it. You can't blow air through it, right? It's clogged. Open up a paper clip and push it back-and-forth through the small hole in the end of the water sprayer back towards its middle. You'll probably push out a line of white mineral deposits. Clean them off the water sprayer with the old toothbrush, and try blowing through the water sprayer again. If air passes through clearly, you've fixed it. Now you have to put it back together. Push the water sprayer back on the end of the hose. Use the pliers to reposition the brass clip on the end of the hose over the water sprayer. Push the red water sprayer back into position in the base of the Bissell.

Now do the same for the other red water sprayer.

I had a problem when I fixed this on mine this morning, because when I pulled one water sprayer off, the hose advanced up under the spring and I couldn't reattach the red water sprayer, because it couldn't reach the end of the hose. So try to use the brass clip or some other means (rubber band, tape, another clip) to keep the hose from crawling up inside the spring after you pull the red water sprayer off the hose. If the hose gets up under the spring anyway, despite your best efforts, I fixed this by removing the six screws on top of the Bissell base (the surface of which the water tank mounts on top of), and then pried it up. You can pull out the hose, reattach the red water sprayers to the hoses, position the hose *very carefully* inside the base (there are mounts under there they need to fit into, so you don't break anything), push the red water sprayers through the mount holes and mount them, and then reattach the screws to the base.

There's something else you may need to do that can help get the water flowing. This one's easier. The Bissell uses pumps, which need to be primed. Sometimes an air pocket inside the machine keeps water from flowing. To prime the pumps, separate the two water tank pieces. Fill the base as usual and mount it on the Bissell without the top water tank piece. Plug the Bissell in and **turn it on**. (The Bissell must be running to do this.) Kneeling on the floor in front of the Bissell, reach up and press the soap and water release trigger at the top of the Bissell's handle and hold it in as if you wanted water to go through. On top of the water tank is a plastic grommet hole about 1 inch in diameter, through which you pour water to fill the tank. Seal that hole with the flat of your hand. You'll feel a bit of suction. Lift your hand up and down a few times. Release the trigger and repeat a few times. Now that you've cleaned out your water sprayers and primed the Bissell's internal pumps, I'm hoping water will GUSH through your Bissell once again.

As you probably have learned the hard way, as I did, it's VERY important to do a lot of cleaning of the Bissell after each use, more than the manual tells you to do. Clean the bottom of the unit. Empty all the water. Thoroughly rinse out both water container pieces. Unscrew the three clear plastic pieces, one in front, two on the sides, that surround the brushes, and rinse them thoroughly in water. Clean off the brushes and all the lint and gunk around and above the brushes. (A water spray bottle and toothbrush are helpful here.) Tip the machine and blow all the water out of the hole in the base. Release the red clip springs on the red water sprayers and blow on them. Doing this will slow the failure of the Bissell. It's a great little machine for the money, but it does have a learning curve and need more pampering than a vacuum cleaner, doesn't it??

Good luck!

SOURCE: Bissell Proheat Pro-Tech #7901 will not spray any liquid to the carpet and red cross indicator is not turning, but comes out of attactments

The 7920 is a 220 volt version of the 7901. I found a shop in New Zealand of all places that has service manuals on line. They are sort of picture books, but using them has saved me a lot of money as it makes repairing much easier. Here's the link you'll need. Good luck. If you need any more help, just add a comment to your post and it will go to my e-mail and let me know. The heads you clean are just the outlet spray heads when they get gunky.

SOURCE: My bissell carpet shampooer won't spray out water

The tubes inside the machine are probably clogged. Dismantle top hood and disconnect the three lines at the pump, open up entire top housing and inspect heater. Disconnect two tubes and heater and blow out with air compressor. That will spray all the junk, soap that has built up and your machine will be good as new. If you can't do this yourself, contact bissell and ask where your local repair center is

Testimonial: "many thanks for your help l will take a look at the shampooer and if I feel I know what Im doing I'll have a go myself if not I will contact service "

SOURCE: bissell carpet cleaner does not have suction like it should

Try checking the lint filter. It is located in the top clear plastic section (the one with the dial to switch from floor to tool use) and is on the underside. It is a small (1 inch square) red plastic filter with a door on it. Flip open the door and it is probably clogged with hair, carpet fibre, etc.. Clean it out and you should have full suction once again.

My hose is clogged, how do I clean it?

It is relatively rare that a vacuum cleaner hose will become blocked under normal use and mostly when they do it is because something unsuitable has been drawn into it - often something sticky left by a child or because the vacuum suction has been reduced by a blocked filter.

Clearing the hose depends what it is blocked with and the hose construction. The type of hose that is crushproof; with an internal metal spiral, can only be cleared by rodding through with a suitable implement such as a broom handle or a couple of drain rods.
The type of hose that is held semi-rigid by a convoluted construction can be squeezed by hand pressure along it's length until the blockage is located and by further squeezing while the cleaner is switched on the blockage might be dislodged.

If the blockage was caused by something sticky - expect more future blockages...

Remove bottom of electrolux prolux upright vacuum. Hose is clogged.

You shouldn't have to remove disassemble the powerhead.
Lay vacuum on it's front. Between the tank and the powerhead is a black flex hose. Pull the end straight out from the powerhead. Then unscrew the tube from the tank using a clockwise turn. Remove the tube and visually check for clogs and splits. Clear or replace as needed.
If there's a clog in the powerhead behind the brush, this can be cleared using a wooden spoon handle or similar object.
If there's no clog in either place, there's a couple other possibilities. First, turn the vacuum back upright, open the hose flap, turn vacuum on, and place hand over opening to check for suction.
If there's a lack of suction, the bag needs replaced, the afterfilter beneath the bag needs cleaned, or the motor needs replaced.
If there is suction, put a coin in the opening inside the port and to the right as you're viewing the front of the vacuum. The coin should drop to the floor. A clog in thes section is unusual, but can happen.
If there is still no suction, take the vacuum to the nearest authorized Aerus Electrolux store for free diagnosis.

Unit turns off when any type of restiction to air intake. For example when unit is turned if hand is held in front of hose connection unit will turn off

This actually cover several models of Aerus and Electrolux canister vacuums. Models covered include: 2100, Epic 6000, Epic 6500, Aerus Lux 5500, Aerus Lux 7000, and Aerus Lux Legacy. Be aware that some of these models may still be under warranty. Any disassembly of those machines will void the warranty. Use of non-genuine bags also voids the warranty. Use only Home Solutions Aerus/Electrolux bags.

First, turn dial on top of vacuum counter-clockwise so the smallest dot lines up with the arrow. See if it stays on. If not, detach hose and turn vacuum on. Place palm of hand over intake. If it turns off, it's possible that the tubes connecting to the CVA are clogged and simply need cleaned. This is most often caused by using "made to fit" Electrolux bags. Dust is sucked through the bags and into the motor compartment of the machine. All interior parts get covered in dust and need to be cleaned. If this is the cause, the vacuum is best cleaned and repaired at an authorized Aerus Electrolux store. If the vacuum shuts off, or won't turn on before placing hand over the intake, it's probable the control valve assembly is bad and needs replaced.

Another cause is an overheated motor due to clogged screen at back of bag well, full or clogged bag, dirty afterfilter, bad wiring/connections, clogged hose, clogged power head, or bad motor. It depends largely on the type and model of cleaner. Clogged wands are also a possibility, but unlikely.

Check and clean screen at back of bag well.

Replace bag. Make sure it's a genuine Electrolux bag made by Home Solutions.

Check and replace afterfilter if necessary. These should be replaced after every six bags.

Broken and worn wiring connections are often found in the hose ends due to abuse and normal wear and tear. You can check the continuity of the hose using a continuity tester or multi-tester. If a multi-tester, turn dial to one of the Ohm settings. Place one probe into one of the terminals on the end of the hose. This will be referred to as T1. Touch the other probe to each of the terminals/connections on the other end of the hose. These will be T3 and T4. One of them should read zero, the other should read infinity. Repeat this with the other terminal, which will be T2.

Drop a marble in one end of hose and let it roll through. If it doesn't roll through, the hose is clogged and needs to be cleared. Plug hose into the exhaust port of the vacuum, place other end in the in port. Turn vacuum on. This provides a blowing and sucking action which should clear the hose.
Detach hose from power nozzle (PN). Drop a marble into the wand end of PN. If it rolls through, it's clear. If not, there's probably a clog behind the brush where the intake opening is. You may be able to reach this through wand end with needle nose pliers, or either end with a knitting/crochet needle or a bent coat hanger.

If none of these "fixes" provide the answer to the problem, it should be taken to the nearest Aerus Electrolux store for diagnosis. Repairs or checks involving disassembly of the vacuum should always be done by an authorized Aerus Electrolux service technician.

The store nearest you can be found by following the instructions at the below listed link:

Clogged sweeper filters changed and hose cleaned, but no dirt collecting in the bag. I am no sure what do do next

You have a rubber flap in the dust collection bin that may have been pulled out causing the collection bin to close when vacuum tries to pass through. Try pushing the flap back in to see if that's the cause of your vacuum loss. To test if this is the cause try turning the cleaner on and feel the outlet leading into the removable bin to see if there is any air flow. If there is no air flow, unplug the vac and run a coat hanger through the inlet tube to find and clear any obstructions. Then take the vacuum outdoors, plug it in and turn it on to clear any dust or debris left in the vacuum chamber.

RED LIGHT INDICATOR

You either have a problem with the sensor or the circuit board. Most times it is with the sensor. Take the hose off, look inside of the part that the hose hooks to, you will see a disc, it may be clogged with dirt, try cleaning it, if that doesn't work, then the sensor may be bad.

Suction only works using the hand held mode, there is no suction when try to use on carpet mode,

There must be a clog in either the hose, dirt inland by the brush roll, or bad filters. If you have suction at the end of the hose, then look lower all the way to the brush roll.
