Getting camcorder to work in my computer!

Really I cant even get my hard drive to process the info that Sony gave me on disk, so my "Computer"can understand the hook up. My computer has Windows XP & Windows Vista in which the very disk my camcorder came with is compatible with, it says it right on the disk and yet it does not even play on my hard drive.I really need my Sony handycam "in picture mode"to function with my "Computer" so I can use them on E-Bay!!!!!!!!!

To convert all your videos .MOD, .TOD, .MTS, .M2TS from your JVC, Panasonic, Canon or Sony camcorders, you can use the software iVerio.

iVerio is a video converter and an avchd converter for camcorders.

You can also view a complete set of instructions on downgrading to the Windows XP Operating System and installing the SATA drivers.

Put in new harddrive, but the recovery disk gives me error message 105.

If your "new" hard drive is really brand new from the factory, it needs to be partitioned and formatted before it will accept any software, even from a recovery disk. You can do that either with a slave cable via usb port using the "computer" "manage" function on a working computer, or use a boot CD to partition and format the drive on the computer getting the new drive. Then boot using the recovery disk and follow on-screen instructions.

Drive manufacturers save money by not preparing the drive, but it forces a user to know how to prepare it. Hence your difficulty getting the recovery disk to work. Just partition and format and you'll be ready to "recover".

Cannot get CD-ROM to work,to come up on screen.

Ok with that you need to insert the disc and then go into the my computer section of your computer and then in the CD rom drive you should see the disc and you will click on it to start the process. However if that does not work then your CD rom drive is defective and you need to purchase a new one.

Playing dvd's from camcorder on laptop...

I have this video camera. It seemed like a good deal at $200 at Christmas time. It is suppose to be able to record on DVD-R, +R disks. (re-writable and write disks) I have had issues with not being able to finalize the disk. I found you needed to keep at least 5 minutes on the disk to finalize it. It will not play in any DVD player or a Computer till it is finalized. The info stored on the disk is in RAW form. Finalizing it will create a "lead in" and "lead out" and a menu for your computer and/or DVD player to understand. A large part of whether it will play or not, is what is your DVD Player or DVD Drive on you computer capable of? DVD Players usually will play anything that has been finalized, same with your DVD drive on your computer. BUT! Yep there's a but, sorry. DVD players and DVD Drives sometimes can only read one type of disk. Either a DVD-R or DVD+R, some may not be able to read a re-writable disk too. Look through your manuals on your Laptop and your DVD Player(s) and try to match the correct media (i.e. DVD-R or DVD+R Write or Re-Writable) I found that between my PC and my DVD Player, that DVD+R would work without a hitch for both electonics. Download that software that Samsung gave you in with the video camera. It may end up loading the driver software to help you're computer to recognize the video DVD you are trying to play. Oh, and make sure you really do have a DVD player/burner drive installed. I went to play a movie on my wife's Laptop and found it came with a CD drive and no DVD drive. That's not what I ordered and I was about a year to late to complain to the company. :( Hope that helps.
