I bought both my daughters Audiophase KZ111 MP3 players for their birthdays. Niether of the two units will take charge. One charged one time the other has never charged. On both units, it begins charging then stops. The unit that did charge the one time would not charge on my computer USB but did charge on a wall jack, but now it won't charge either way.
One thing that I have found that works is that you slide the switch to the "ON" position, but don't press play to turn it on all the way. Do this BEFORE plugging it into your computer. I have had the mp3 player fro a year or two and I have charged it about 15-20 times.
Thank you for the suggestions. After several headaches I finally decided to check online for solutions and my MP3 player is actually charging, I think. lol
I turned it on, then plugged it in to the computer and the battery indicator is moving, which I hope means that it's charging. Before I left it off and plugged it in and the battery indicator wouldn't move. I also plugged it in first and then turned it on and the battery indicator moved for about 30 seconds and then stopped.
So if you're trying to charge your MP3 player make sure you
TURN IT ON FIRST, THEN PLUG IT IN!
Also I found a Support and Service number 1-818-767-2843 ext 117.
I have not tried it so I don't know if it's still in service or not.
My daughter also had this problem we ended up buying a seperate charging device which always works. loading problems can be fixed with a firmware update @ http://www.tgegroup.com/en/support/download.htm (may be needed more than once)
I can get the mp3 player to charge, but it wont hold a charge after 3 days of charging it wont stay on or come on at all, i have turned it on before charging also. the thing use to work good.
Yeah...turning it on while charging works. How do you open the thing up to change battery?
Turn the mp3 player on before connect it to the computer, let it starts completely then connect it.
I also had the same problem and fixed it by switching on the power during charging. It really helped.
I also got my kids one for christmas wouldnt charge i figured out if i leave the portable device box up on the screen it charges every one try that
I left the KZ111 charging for 2 days nothing. I turned the KZ111 on and started to charging like suggested. Left it charge for 12 hours and still nothing. They just will not take a charge. I suggest returning the, to the store and getting a different brand MP3 player.
You need to turn the mp3 player on before it will begin to charge.
I had the same problem, I think the contacts on the connection are bad on the MP3 player. Before it would show charging and stop at full after 30 seconds. i wiggled the connection and pressed it in as hard as i could and now the MP3 player is charging. I have it on the On positions as well.
Plug the mp3 player into the computer, then turn it on, after that hold down the play button until the battery gets a line that starts moving back on forth on it, this means its charging, also do the same to turn it on
Just for everyone info the Audiophase KZ112 has been recalled. I had to return my 5th one this last weekend and K-Mart advised me that the mp3 player was recalled.

my husband bought the audiophase kz112 mp3 player, and it wont charge completly. he gets about 2 hours maybe. we returned one to the store, and this one wont charge. even if hooked to usb all night.
I bought my daughter an audiophase KZ111 and it worked for a few days then stopped holding a charge and doesn't seem to be charging now either. When hooked up to the USB port while it's turned off, it shows the battery fully charged according to the manual but turns itself off with low bat message when unplugged and turned on. If I turn it on while plugged into the USB port it shows battery usage/charging. The manual just says to plug it into the USB port to charge nothing about turning it on.
I have left the mp3 charging for 1 day and still when I turn it on i get the low battery sign and then it turns off. I have tried two different usb cords and It still won"t charge.

I got a Audiophase KZ112 on 8/3/07 it took a charge the first time but after that it would not charge again. I went and had it exchanged for another one and it too had the same problem. I got another new one and now this one is doing the same thing, at least this one acts like it's charging but when I try to start it I get the low battery message

I bought 3 audiophase KZ111 mp3 players for my children for christmas, none will charge when plugged into the computer. At $60 each, I need these to charge.
Santa brought this to my daughter for Christmas. I have no experience with MP3 players (pretty technologically challenged), but I managed to copy a few songs over and thought we were doing good. But after just a few minutes, it stopped with a "low bat" message. I plugged it back into the computer and let it sit for several hours. Again, it gave the message "low bat" and turned off. There is nothing in any of the literature that came with it about the battery and how to charge it. Also, not trouble-shooting Q&A.
How do you keep it charged? Does it charge off of the USB port? I only get about 2 hours of play and then I get a low battery sign and then it shuts itself off? What is going on with it?

Same problem, however I opened the case, and found that the li-polymer
battery has some white dust and the numbers printed on the batter can
not completely read.. this type of batteries are bad with the water..
so any one know where to get a battery replace?

kz111/kz112 wont take a charge it used to it charged two or three times but not any more. i bought it at k mart for christmas for my doughter. what can i do or how can i return it.i pluged it in to my computer to charge.
My grand daughters is doing the same thing except when you plug it up now It acts like it is charging the yellow bar goes across twice and it looks like it is fully charged but the MP3 player will not turn on at all. While charging I have tried it with the MP3 player on and off.

I'm having the same problem with charging, as well as I can't find this mysterios MTP file in "my computer" section like the small (no help what so ever) manual.
I can tranfer files easily with my media player but I was able to get the KZ112 to work once for 2 minutes then a low batt sign came up.
Sometimes when it acts like it's going to work I get this pic of a person skiing and then nothing??

I bought two of these used from goodwill for $10 each. Not a bad deal and the battery charged fine for a couple months. Then nothing. I put them away but recently dug them out and took them apart. The issue is the rechargable batteries are bad. They're corroded. I think I could replace them but I can't read the numbers on them or find the replacement batteries on the net anywhere. Anyone know where to get the batteries?
