This error is almost always caused by a corrupt print job or driver. If the machine was working fine it may be as simple as canceling the print job and restarting everything (computer and printer). Before sending the job to print again, it would be worthwhile to print a test page. If you can, you know the issue is specific to whatever you're trying to print. If you cannot, you know it's a most likely a driver issue.
Other possibilities: - a recent OS update/upgrade killed the driver. This happened to a fair number of Windows 8 users.
-You're attempting to print from MAC but don't have the printer/driver setup for postscript. Weird but true, even in 2015 PCs and MACS still use different protocols to print to laser printers. (Not an issue for ink jets)
If this is the issue, here are the directions to setup the printer and MAC to work on your network. Notice the printer (wireless or not) should be wired for config-
PRINTER SETUP: (1) Connect printer to the ethernet port (2) On the controler of the printer, select menu (3) with the cursors (down) select Admin Menu, and press ok (the center key) (4) the text "wired network" will appear. Press OK (5) Move the coursor down to tcp/ip. Press ok (6) "get IP address" will appear. Press ok (7) select panel. Press ok (8) press "menu" and repeat (1) to (5) (9) "get IP address" will appear. Move the cursor down to "IP Address". Press OK (10) with the coursor select write the IP address among the margins of your Router. The Gateway numbers shlould be the same as the ip number of your router. MAsK is always 255.255.255.0 (11) press menu and restart the printer
IN YOUR MAC (1)Install the 3110cn modules version 2.1.3 Build 5 (usually in the CD, or in DELL site download area) (2) Open Setup Print Utility and select "Add a printer" (3) Select IP printer (any of the possibilities you are offered are ok), WRITE THE ADDRESS YOU WROTE IN YOUR PRINTER (4)In printing using select Dell
You can move the printer to wireless, just keep the IP address the same.
Try this: But first print a configuration report.(contain IP address) Configuration Report Release GO after LED begins blinking. Now: Reset the factory default settings (cold reset) Turning on the printer while pressing the GO and CANCEL JOB buttons restores the factory default settings. 1 Turn off the printer. 2 Press and hold the GO and CANCEL JOB buttons. 3 Turn the printer on and continue to press and hold the buttons until all three LEDs are blinking. 4 Release the buttons.
What your IT tech has done is use an address reservation to ensure that the printer always gets the same IP. This is a fairly common practice to ensure when one needs to ensure that a machine always gets the same address. We use that on our network almost exclusively. I would recommend that you perform a cold reset on this machine, also called an NVRAM init. This how it is done:
Use the following procedure to execute an NVRAM-init.
1 Turn off the printer.
2 Press and hold the (SELECT) and (CANCEL JOB) buttons simultaneously.
3 Turn on the printer.
4 When you see the message Permanent storage init displays, release the (SELECT) and
(CANCEL JOB) buttons.
When the NVRAM init is complete, the printer will return to the Ready state.
After you have done that you will need to to reset your network card settings. Also ensure that the firmware on the printer is 20070716. You will find the firmware version printed on the configuration page of the machine.
There must be IP address conflict. Check the Dell printer IP address
Open Printers and Faxes Folder Right click on printer icon ( dell ) Click on Properties Under Ports Tab check the IP address with check mark If the Ports IP address is Different as that in Dell Printer Highlight the Port with IP address and click on Configure IP below Change the IP address to the Printer and Click OK
Also check if there are print job stuck in the Queue ( like no. 1,2 ) The printer icon should show READY and 0 Or Else, Right click on the printer icon and Click Cancel Print job.
Restart your PC and Printer and try to print. It should work If this does not work, let me know what is the Operating system of your PC
Try this Step if your Operating system is Windows 7 Right click on the printer icon Left click on Troubleshoot Continue with the Wizard and complete it You are ready to print.
Reset all the i/o active channels, i/o ports, memory etc of ur printer by using printer menu. And then load factory defaults. Then configure the tcp/ip port again and aassign ip address. Try it , i think printer memory is full

If a message window appears asking to cancel printing, select 'Yes'.
Verifythe printer icon no longer appears on the Windows taskbar. If the iconappears, double-click it and cancel the remaining print jobs asinstructed on steps two and three.
After all print jobs have been cancelled, reconnect the cable to the printer and then try to print again.
Ifthe print job does not complete, it may be necessary to disconnect theprinter cable, power off and on the printer and then reconnecting thecable.
You can cancel a print job from within Windows by going to Control Panel -> Printers and double-clicking on the appropriate printer. Right-click the print job you want to cancel and select Cancel from the context menu. Anything already sent to the printer will continue to print.
You can also cancel a print job from the printer by pressing Cancel on the control panel. This applies to whatever is currently printing.
(You may want to remove any paper from the paper tray first.)
Clicking the cancel print icon stops the job from continuing to spool, but whatever is still in the printer's memory will continue to print until exhaused or the job is cancelled from the printer's control panel.
Clear the print queue by double clicking the printer icon in the Printers and Faxes folder and power off and unplug the printer power cord. Remove the paper from the tray and power the printer back on if it attempt to print again repeat the process until the memory is cleared.
To cancel a print job in Windows you can use one of the following two methods:
CANCELLING A PRINT JOB WITH THE PROGRESS METER: When you send a print job to the printer, the Status Monitor will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen. Another printer icon for the PROGRESS METER will also appear in the taskbar while printing is taking place. This PROGRESS METER is there so you can manage print priorities or cancel print jobs.
1. Highlight the print job in the PROGRESS METER box. 2. Click on DOCUMENT and CANCEL, or, right click on the job name and left click CANCEL or DELETE. 3. Confirm cancelling the print job.
CANCELLING A PRINT JOB FROM THE PRINTERS WINDOW: If no PROGRESS METER appears, you can access the document queue in this fashion:
1. Open START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, PRINTERS (START, CONTROL PANEL, PRINTERS and FAXES in Windows XP). 2. Right click on your Epson printer name, left click PURGE PRINT JOBS (98,ME), or CANCEL ALL DOCUMENTS (2000,XP). (Or, double-click on the printer name to see and modify the status of documents in queue.) 3. Confirm cancelling all documents.
Keep in mind that once information has been sent to the printer it resides in the spooling folders within Windows. It may a while for printing to stop as this data clears the system.
If the printer continues to print (ie multiple copies of a cancelled job, or garbled print) remove the rest of the paper from the printer and allow it to run out. Once an "out of paper" type error appears on your screen, cancel the documents. Once all print job information has deleted, reload the paper and press the paper feed button once to clear the red light and return the printer to a ready state.
