I took out a CF card and put a fresh on in and it wouldn't seat all the way in,Then would show a -E- on the screen,
SOURCE: nikon d70s
The card may have pushed the pins through the back of the circut board inside the camera (a semi common issue) or they may require cleaning (with some contact cleaner or rubbing alcohol in a q-tip/cotton bud).
Check for corrosion and/or damage to the pins.
Also, and this may soud stupid, shake your CF card to check for loose internals whcih would indicate damage to the card.
My camera sporadically gave card errors then would flash "FOR" without me pressing anything and would result in corupted image files. This was due to por pin contact caused by a damaged CF card (caused by my dodgy card reader) but in your case the pins or card may be damaged causing a poor connection.
The only solution I have found is purchasing a new card as my pins were ok but my card was damaged. Your situation may require a clean and service and/or repair to the pins.
Good luck!

Dear Sir e_jamandre, probably the connector memory card has one or more bent pins or cracked solder.
The worst thing would be that the memory compression circuit is damaged.
Greetings
