Spark plugs foul immediately

I have a Briggs & Stratton model 303447 type 1064A1 code 95101711 engine . It will foul out a brand new spark plug in 2 - 3 minutes of running. I have put on hotter spark plugs. That helped but did not cure the problem. Worked on carburetor multiple times, new air filter. Any ideas?

Fouled plugs may be caused by oil leaking into the cylinder. Does it smoke when running (cold), are you using up the crank oil. Black smoke is excess gas comsumption, blue smoke is oil burning. If your plug is fouled with black carbon, you are most likely running to rich.

Briggs and Stratton running rich and smoking black.

Yes, black smoke is too rich, blue is oil and white is steam/condensation.

Surging is normally caused by air entering the inlet manifold or governor.

Idle Jet air control (often hidden under a silver disc).

I have a Briggs & Stratton model 19E412 type 1131-E1 that will not start with starting fluid. It's getting spark to the plug, changed fuel filter and lines but will not start?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to a Briggs Generator category.

Engines only need 3 things to run.

Compression
A spark and the right time
Fuel

When you try and start, remove the plug and see if it is wet with gas? You may have a blocked carb jet.

Check compression.

Have 303447 briggs 16 hp only fires one cylinder

Have you also changed the spark plug too. The ignition circuit is pretty simple, from the battery, the Coil is energized, the "points" or equivalent, through the "Distributor" or equivalent, and onto the Spark Plug. So it is a simple matter to work along the path, proving the "Integrity" at each, point by testing. IF it still doesn't fire after ensuring all Leads are OK, the Spark Plugs are proven OK, the Cables, the Points, & Distributor, . IT is either that or the Ignition Timing is OFF. Please check all those points.

No spark

Specifics on engine needed, brand, model, type, code, serial numbers. Thanks, rwvanlue
try the things below to see if they help

1) How have you determined that there is no spark?
2) Have you used a type of spark tester?
3) What is the condition of the plug. Brown or dark brown is OK. Black or silver is NOT Ok.
*If you do not have a spark tester,
a) remove the plug, and with it connected to the wire,
b) find a portion of metal around the cylinder that you can ground it on, and then pull the rope.
c) If the plug is black, you may see spark, but you should replace the plug.

*** PLEASE NOTE ; if there is excess fuel in the cylinder or on spark plug,
it can catch fire, so be carefull to cover the hole with a heavy rag so that any fuel
cannot be exposed to spark plug durning test !!!!
Get back with me on how this issue works out.
thanks, rwvanlue
