Door locked - won't open. Mid wash the electricity tripped. Had to replace fuse in appliance plug. Now electrics working again but door is locked and won't open. Did another wash and tried unplugging appliance but red "door locked" light remains on.
On some hotpoint models you can remove the front kickplate and on there will be a yellow or green plastic pull toggle, pull this and it will bypass your door lock, if your appliance does not have this then you will need to unplug and leave unplugged for 10-15 mins to reset the door lock, you will however more than likely need a new door lock

something is going down to earth, start by unplugging the motor and retesting, if it doesn't trip them check the motor carbons etc, if it trips then check the heater element for contact down to earth, replace if needed etc, then check the outlet pump the same way if i have helped rate me please ps when working on machine remove from power supply

I have just had exactly the same problem. 10 seconds of washing, fuse blew, replaced it, cycle completed but now the door lock is stuck on. Like you I tried a new cycle but this has done nothing. In the end (and I'm not suggesting that this a remedy to the problem) I unplugged the machine - pulled the door handle til a gap appeared at the top of the door and forced it open by working a pair of scissors in to the gap and pulling. Of course as soon as I shut the door again and turned on the power the lock light came straight back on the and the door was locked tight. Sorry but this is the best I have come up with short of calling some one out.

Re your other prob ,it is probably due to a fault with the heater, disconnect the heater and run the dryer .if it does not cut out then your heater needs replacing.

You have probably knocked of the connector or the catch (and on these it is very fragile as I have changed the catch 3 times on mine) is broken
