Maxtra long pole hedge trimmer has bolt with stripped thread.

The hedge trimmer attachment, has stripped thread on the split pinned bolt that secures the two halves of the main casing gearbox for the bevel gear drive for cutting blades.

Chain adjuster on Maxtra pole saw problem

The Bar adjustment is normally a nut that screws onto a fixed threaded bolt. My advice would be to replace the nuts with Nyloc nuts and grip washers or use Loctite Red on what you have.

I can zoom in on this image, but the resolution isn't good enough to see the bar fixing clearly.

Maxtra chainsaw parts

We added an O-ring to the gas cap, used a Goof-Off cap to replace the bar oil cap, added a flat-washer to hold the plastic saw cover. Since the pole joints slip out of place, he used very short self-tapping screws (made for steel studs) to fasten more permanently. He started the holes with the screws, but then backed them out and shortened them by grinding off 3 threads. Then he tightened them.

Mainly, we just found the problem that solves the start / fuel issues many have had on the Maxtra Pole Saw!!!!!!!! My husband noticed the carburetor seemed giggly. He had removed the air cover and been starting it by pouring a little mixed fuel directly into it, It would run a little bit, then die. I watched the fuel line, and even after pumping it up, it would get air bubbles in the line while it ran, and then drain completely. The fuel line is really short so we both thought it just might not be far enough into the fuel -- but that was not it. He saw the two nuts inside the breather and decided to remove those and the carburetor. A little tricky if you have NO mechanical skill at all, but really pretty easy, take photos if you need to remember how it goes. He found that the manifold piece behind that had 2 bolts holding it and they were VERY loose. This created a horrible air gap. He gently tightened those bolts with a hex bit keeping in mind he did not want to strip them. (Now we wish we had used Lock-Tite). We put it back together, pumped the primer AND IT STARTED ON THE FIRST PULL!!!! First pull, ran continuously, and even idled!!!! We are going to replace the fuel line with a little longer tube tomorrow. This baby will hum now!

My Maxtra 30cc pole pruner starts ok and runs fine for about 5 mins. The revs then begin to race and the engine cuts out

I have seen this issue before, having trouble remembering the fix though. Is there any more info you can give me about the problem?
