I have have a 10 year old Kenmore Hood/Microwave combo built by Whirpool. I'm getting an F6 error code. What is the error code trying to tell me?

F6 —Microwave Relay Failure: Check the microwave relay.

The F6 error code which is flashing on your microwave refers to a faulty relay. However, I would suggest that you first try to run a diagnostic (which you may not be able to, but it is beneficial if it works). Here is how:

The microwave oven may be provided with a self diagnostic routine that can be operated through the touch pad keyboard. To enter the self-diagnostic routine:
1.While pressing the CANCEL keypad:
a) Open the oven door.
b) Unplug the microwave oven for 2-seconds and plug it back in.
c) Release the CANCEL keypad and close the oven door.

NOTE: The humidity sensor test results will appear on the display after 8-seconds.If the tests are successful, "OK " will be displayed. If one or more of the tests fail, "ERR " will be displayed.. 2.When a keypad is pressed, a number according to the test chart will be displayed. When no keypad is pressed, a blank "—" is displayed.
If you want to try to fix it your self, Always remember Electricity is dangerous and should be treated with respect.
Microwaves are very dangerous, they can still shock you even unplugged!!
Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it. With the microwave unplugged.

Hope that helps.........

Start button is not working.

  • Check for bad interlock switch or interlocks that are not being properly activated.
  • confirm that the START touch pad button is not itself faulty.
  • If it is not a touch pad unit, check the controller-it is either not sensing the start command or there maybe some other reason, like an internal blown fuse
  • Check that there are no missing power supply voltages for the controller or any bad connections.
  • If your a DIYer, obtain a repair and service manual for you particular model microwave; or else bring it to a qualified technician in microwave repair. You'll want an estimate for diagnostic fees, parts and labor.
  • See if the technician is willing to apply the diagnostic fee toward the repair costs for price reduction.
  • If the bill to repair the microwave is 50% more than what it would cost to buy a new one, deep six the old one and splurge on yourself and family for a new microwave oven...you deserve it! :)

I need to reset my Kenmore Elite dishwasher but i don't know how.

Hello,

follow the below instructions:

Unlock your Kenmore dishwasher control panel by pressing and holding the "Heated Dry" button for four seconds.

Press a series of four buttons in quick succession. Press "Heated Dry," "Normal Wash," "Heated Dry" and "Normal Wash" to instruct your Kenmore dishwasher to run a short diagnostic test

Wait for two minutes while your Kenmore dishwasher runs its diagnostic test.

Press the "Cancel/Drain" button once your dishwasher has completed its diagnostic test. This should reset your dishwasher control panel and stop the "Clean" light from blinking repeatedly.
Good luck.
