My Cusinart 10 cup coffee maker is almost 4 years old and the base of the heater is corroding. I am afraid of fire and contacted Cusinart. They said it cannot be repaired and I would have to buy a new one. I am concerned about continual usage and fire. I certainly do not want to buy a new Cusinart after this.

SOURCE: Bunn coffee maker reservoir makes a gurgling noise

THis sound is usually caused by the water being low in the tank. This can be because the machine is left on for long periods without being used. If this is not the case, then it would probably be your heating element getting small holes in it.

SOURCE: delayed brewing

The problem is in the sensor that tells the coffee maker when the brew cycle is complete. This is a heat sensor that's clipped to the heating element. The sensor gets overly sensitive and shuts things off too soon. Since schematics and parts aren't available for this unit, it's pretty much junk after it starts to fail. You can remove the sensor, but this creates a major fire hazard. My advice is to pick up a good percolator and forget the drip units. The Grind-N-Brew makes excellent coffee, but they barely last out the warranty and the cost of replacing them mounts up. I've gone through two (same problem with both) and it's no longer worth it to me.

SOURCE: Leaky Tassemo coffee maker

All you have to do is push the filter down into the base of the water caraf. You have to be careful as there are now 2 different types of filters being sold. The Bosch filters will not fit into the Braun machines and vice versa. The only local store to me that sells the filters is Bed Bath and Beyond and they have stopped carrying the Braun filters. The only place I have been able to find them is on the Tassimo website. Good luck!

SOURCE: my 12 cup cuisinart coffee pot keeps shutting off

I have the same pot except for the 10 cup model, and it has been doing the same thing. I realized that I have never changed the charcoal filter inside, and I believe that may have been the problem. I removed the filter, ran vinegar through the pot several times as well as cleaned some nasty looking scum out of the water reservoir. I ran 3 pots of water after that. The problem has not recurred so far. I think it may be fixed although time will tell for certain.

My two year old Cuisinart 14 cup just started smoking from out of where cord comes out. Is there a recall on this. There are a ton of complaints that they catch on fire

Here is a link to the Cuisinart support site: http://www.cuisinart.com/support/us.html

After unpluging the coffee maker and making sure that no one will attempt to use it please contact Cuisinart to see if the DCC-2200 is on the recall list. If it is not, you should consider installing a new power cord with at least 14 gauge wire....this is assuming that you are comfortable doing this sort of repair. Otherwise, replace the coffee maker! Fires from electrical problems are responsible for too many deaths to take any chances with an appliance that smokes when plugged in!

I have a 12 cup cusinart grind & brew. The hopper is not working

You may have to clean the grinder....even more. That happened to me once. First I cleaned out the coffeemaker with the brush, and "dug" out more coffee, then I used this product which you can find on Amazon: "Urnex Grindz Coffee Grinder Cleaner - Urnex 17-GRINDZ12-40." It's expensive, but it really worked well.

Cusinart DGB 550BK coffee maker not working properly

Cuisinart Coffeemaker Decalcification Process

Run 2 cups distilled white vinegar and 2 cups water through the system - brew it like it was regular coffee. Then run plain water through the coffemaker to rinse the vinegar out and make sure the decalcification was successful. Repeat as needed. Don't forget to remove the charcoal water filters first.

Is a specil tool needed to open a Cusinart grind & brew coffemaker? I have a power problem.

You need to use a Torx T-9 Tamper Proof screwdriver to remove the four screws on the bottom of the coffee maker. It is a star bit with a small hole in the center.

Bunn auto coffee maker two warmer, only makes about 3-4 cups

The machine will allow you to brew from 4-10 cups. It works on a displacement systems so if you pour in 4 cups of water, then 4 cups of coffee should come out. If it isn't, then get the model and date code from the bottom of the unit and call customer service. If you machine is 3 years old and less, it will be replaced at no cost. If it is over 3 years old, it will be replaced at a reduced price.

Replacing Cord on 100 Cup Coffee Urn

The black clip that you are talking about seems to be a type of "lock" that was commonly used to prevent the cord from being pulled from the appliance by accident. You will need this part to "lock" the cord into the new base. I would recommend that you try to break the old base from around the cord trying not to damage the clip. You'll then be able to insert the "old" clip into the matching slot in the new base. I believe that the part itself is called a "locking strain relief".
