Question about Mitsubishi WS-55819 55" Rear Projection Television
Picture blacks out with audio remaining in any channel. Picture may attempt to return after minutes or hours. Sometimes screen has horizontal flashing lines or a faded picture and will then turn to full color with quality resolution for a short time. It then returns to a black screen.

Rear projection TVs are dinosaurs. Sell it if you can get anybody to buy it and get an HDtv they're pretty cheap now not to mention thinner, lighter and better for your eyes. Imagine the space you'll save if you mount it on the wall and the cost of electricity. Not trying to be a jerk but it's time to move into the 21st century. The picture is waaaaay better.

Good Day, Techwanab;
Look for this to be your problem: CHECK FOR OPEN L2C50 PART #325C146030 ON THE SIGNAL PCB, OR BAD CONNECTIONS AND LEAKY CAPS IN THAT AREA.
Hope this was helpful and not too late.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

The green CRT's (color picutre tube or color wheel, or ballast) will need to be tested for replacement.
It is quite common with these tv's
You will need an ohmmeter and or voltmeter and test each component for currency and accuracy
