Do you really want the Kodak software?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

If you really want the Kodak software, you may download it from http://support.en.kodak.com/app/answers/list/c/902/selected/true

You don't need one
You can download it for free on the Kodak website. Don't use other sites, because you can end up with lots of stuff on your computer and not be able to use it as you want. go here:

Replacement lcd screen

The most difficult part will be to buy a new screen. I guess here are list of phone repair shops, that could do the job, but buying spare parts from Kodak is a challenge.

You don't need any special software in order to use your camera.

Kodak m583 will not delete pictues when you use the trash can button

To the other so-called solutions: your "solutions" sucked.

Here's how to do it: Click the "settings" icon on the screen. You get there by clicking the sides of the silver square surrounding the "ok" button (if there are no icons on the screen then click the "disp" button). Then in settings arrow down to the option that says "safe mode" (near the bottom) and change it's value from "Yes" to "No". Then the "format" will become available (2nd option from the last). Format the internal memory. Tada! Clean slate.
