We have a Sharp Notevision projector, model XR-10X. We also have a model XR-11XC. They both have the same problem. (We recently bought the XR-10X, used, to replace the XR-11XC.) We bought the 10X because it uses the same bulb. The problem that both of these projectors have is: they simply stopped working right in the middle of an event. We tried a different bulb, hoping that might solve the problem, but they won't even turn on.

if there are no leds lit on the top, then probably the bimetal circuit breaker tripped. you have to take the top off to get to it. it's located on the front of the lamp housing. press the red button. if it still doesn't turn on, it's the power supply.

if it's under 1 year old, it's still under warranty, so send it in and get it fixed for free.

first, make sure you have the correct lamp. the lamp for the xr-10x-l looks like the xr-10x, but the plugs are different (common mistake). make sure you have the AN-XR10L2/1, not the AN-XR10LP/1. to reset the lamp timer (with the projector plugged in but off), hold down the enter, down arrow, and menu buttons and press the power.

Carefully try using a flat head screw driver on the middle plastic piece. make sure it is off...
Or try coming at it from the other side after taking the top of the machine off you can unscrew 3 screws and loosen whatever might be blocking it
