SOURCE: Palm Tungsten E2 stuck on Tap the center of the target

The digitizer part is defective and needs to be replaced.

You can find digitizer parts in ebay or other on-line companies, at reasonable prices.

Regarding the labor cost, depending of the repair shop you choose, it may be cheap or expensive.

Also, if you have minimum experience and skills in fixing electronics, you can try it. really is not so difficult, and minimum set of tools are needed for it

Best regards,

Palm T3 frozen, tried restart in hole, nothing?

Doing a soft reset A soft reset tells your handheld to stop what it's doing and start over again. None of your information will be lost. After a soft reset, a screen appears that lets you reset the date and time, if needed. To do a soft reset, use the tip of an unfolded paper clip (or similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press the reset button inside the hole on the back panel of your handheld.

If a soft reset does not unfreeze your handheld, you need to do a hard reset. Doing a hard reset Only do a hard reset if a soft reset doesn't solve your problem, or if you want to clear all of your information from your handheld. [!] IMPORTANT A hard reset deletes all records and entries stored on your handheld, including the username that identifies the handheld. Before you do a hard reset, be sure to synchronize.

Frozen Blank Screen - soft reset doesn't work.... Do NOT want to do hard reset because all my data will be lost and it is my life line. I am panicking. Please help!

If you back up all your data on your desktop it will be restored with your next hotsync after the hard reset. I recommend the hard reset but if you really don't want to try that they I suggest you try using the free palm chat. Here is the link for that. Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see palm Chat. Click on the link that says chat now and follow the prompts. Best wishes.

My palm e2 screen brings a frozen screen even after reset and no button whatsoever works, it can reset but freezes on the screen again, that is 0 alerts. even the power button does not work, only reset,...

You can try doing a hard reset. A hard reset will delete everything on your device. All your data will be deleted, and formats, preferences and other settings are restored to their factory default settings. Don't perform a hard reset unless you've backed up your data, or you're willing to lose everything. Here is the link for directions for the Hard Reset:

My palm tungsten e2 has been frozen for 45 minutes

do a soft reset, press the reset button on the back of the unit, if you still have the stock stylus, the top will unscrew to expose a reset pin, to allow you to access button. Press the button, screen should sow a restart, then your starting point.

Hope this helps
