Try removing the cover and clean the glass laser eye with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab. Clean the glass laser eye.
If cleaning doesn't work, then the circuit will need to be replaced.

Please help me to solve the problem with error H03 of DVD-LX8. Thanks a lot.

These H errors may refer to either the laser pickup or spindle motor or both. In this case, H03 and H07 are both spindle motor related. The only trouble is that this part is not serviceable, you cannot dissect it to clean it etc., so it must be replaced (most models I have dealt with have the laser/spindle motor as one part - known as a traverse unit) along with the laser which is also part of this device.

If you cannot hear any discs spinning when you load them, and you should be able to, then the motor within the traverse unit has given out. This can be expensive to replace unfortunately. I advise that you probably take the player to a repair shop - preferably an authorised Panasonic agent, get a free quote and make a decision afterwards as to what you wish to do.

Panasonic Portable dvd/cd player model #DVD-LS90 The player turns on and tries to read the DVD. However, it no longer spins so the DVD cannot be read.

Hi,

Two possibilities:
  • the laser eye (lens) is dirty, weak or defective. The unit no longer can sense that a disc is present and therefore will not initiate servo motor engagement. Pls try cleaning;
  • the spindle motor is weak or defective. This might be of additional information.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

I have had my Panasonic DVD-F87 Multi-disc DVD Player for over three years and within the last 4 months, it stopped playing DVD's. It plays CDS and CDRs' but it will not play a DVD at all (used to play...

Hello jwbabyj hi, 3 years of good listening to music on your player is rather good for its life, no device doesn't last forever, this failure is due to use, dust, temperature, shock, fluctuating power source and other external devices, which will make you player eventually give up. My solutions suggest the following:
  1. Clean your player lens, there are after market lens cleaners, buy one. and use it to clean the player lens.
  2. You may need to remove the top cover to have access to the lens for manual cleaning if the lens cleaner will not work out. Get one clean ear bud, and dampen one side with warm water, rub this in circular motion to the lens, 3 to 5 revolutions will do, use the other dry side to dry off the lens. replace the cover and test. do this several times until the player works.
  3. If still, this does not work, remove the cover and see if the lens glows visible light, to do this eject the tray, do not place any CD, then close, look at the lens and see if it emits visible light. No light bad lens. needs lens replacement. bring it for service.
  4. Check for worn out belts, does your player spindle spins? no spinning spindle bad player. needs spindle replacement.
  5. If 3 and 4 are likely, better buy a new one.

Dvd/cd player model no dvd-cv52, displaying HO7. have unpluged from power, and cleaned disc.

HELLO

I have just recently posted a cure for this - but here we go again. Fault H07 is the fault code for the spindle/disc motor and to cure it do this!
With the lid of the player removed, locate the spindle and where the motor shaft goes into the motor itself, use a little light oil or WD40. Don't drench the area or you'll really have fun cleaning it up!

Let it soak in a while and try it again - you should now find it works.

I am now finding quite a few owners of Panasonic DVD players are starting to get this message on the display. The same happened to me!

I wish you luck! (:-)

DVD PROBLEM

Hi,

Often on Panasonic DVDs, error code H07 indicates that the spindle motor is not turning. The spindle motor is relatively small and expectedly wuld develop hardware problems over time. In some cases, a temporary remedy wold be to clean and lubricate the inside of the motor. Here is my post on similar problems with spindle motors of another electronic device, while here is an illustrated how to.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

If you put a disk in and it just clicks several times, it's more than likely the spindle motor. It's best just to replace the DVD drive. My own theory is that when you record in the high speed mode, it is just too much for the spindle motor to handle over time. I keep my record speed in the standard mode to play it safe.

Error Message H07 - what is it?

The last time I opened up my Panasonic DVD-CV52, I looked at the little white bush on the motor spindle, it has a small spring which presses against the side of the bush. I can see no purpose for this spring/bush other than to provide some drag to the motor. Anyway, I removed the spring, so that the bush would no longer drag against the shaft, that was a few years back, and I haven't had a problem since. Of course a temporary solution is to oil the bush!
The www.ledcar.com/pdvdh07/ link mentioned above provides an excellent pictorial guide to disassemble and reassemble the player.
