Take spark plugs out and see if it will crank over. It may have gotten a hydraulic lock due to the overfill of oil. With the spark plugs out it should purge out the hydraulic lock on oil if that is the case. Or it may be the starter.
Hi steve16092...
You may have MAJOR damage to your motor because of overfilling the oil.
Sometimes you can bend or break a piston rod when the engine is overfilled.
Meanwhile you can check a few other things.
Take your plug out and ground it against the head of the engine with the spark wire attached to it.
You should get a bright blue spark, if not then check your ignition module, it may be faulty.
If you have spark, then try putting a little bit of lighter fluid/or gasoline in the cylinder and reinstall the plug and try to crank it...if it cranks, then you may need to clean/rebuild your carburetor.
Please take time to rate me
I would bet you drained the transmission oil and not the engine oil. It is a pretty common mistake.
How much oil did you add when you where done. is the oil level on the oil dipstick now reading overfilled? Is there any fluid on the transmission dipstick?
check you havent overfilled its common for the light to come on if its low or overfilled also if overfilled you are building up sump pressure could b thats causing the noise also its worth checking the oil cap is fast on
Sounds like plug is is fouled. Most likly got oil in the cylinder. depending on amount of oil, you may just be able to clean plug and get it going. it will smoke a bit until it gets in all out.
