1. Check to make sure that you have good air flow around the laptop, including sides and bottom.
2. Make sure fan/heatsink area is clear of dirt, etc. If you are using the laptop in an environment where there is a lot of dust, it will clog up the fan/heatsink.
Check the Lenovo support forum to see how the clogged heatsink looks. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Y560-overheating-and-shutting-down/m-p/677023
Be aware to get to access to the insides, will require dis-assembly of the laptop. Best left to experts.

Sounds to me that you have an overheating problem. Can you hear the fan come on? Can you feel the hot air being pusheed away from the computer? Have you got it sitting on something soft like a bed or pillow or something which is stopping the intake of fresh air?

Did you try removing the battery pack and then putting it back in? I had disconnected my AC, closed the lid, put it in my backpack and went to the office. The battery light was on when I left but by the time I got to the office it was DOA. After checking the AC at the office I took out the battery pack and put it back in. Voila.

SOURCE: Lenovo Laptop not starting and Charger's light blinking..

It sounds like your power cord is bad. If you got a notification that the battery was getting low and you had the power cord in, that means the power cord was not charging the battery, you were working off the batery even though the power cord was plugged in and eventually you drained the battery.

You'll need to purchase a AC Adapter Power Cord that is built for your laptop, not a one size fits all laptops that the big box stores will sell you . By one size fits all I mean the end that goes into the computer is removable and you can replace it with one of many ends that come with it until you find one that fits. Use it and you'll surely burn *********** board out eventually.

SOURCE: Lenovo Y410 laptop is getting hot and shutdown automatically.

its normal your computer is automatically shutdown because the system hardware cannot bear the heat anymore that was produce in computer hardware. hardware is degrade when time goes by. so the basic solutions is to provide your laptop a cooling pad.

When I power on I get a er17 then it shuts off.

This error usually means a serious configuration issue with the installed operating system. If you have files currently on the hard drive (pictures, documents, etc.) that you must have, and you don't have a backup of these files separate from the hard drive on the laptop, you may need to have someone with PC knowledge remove the hard drive from the laptop and recover the files manually for you. Otherwise the usual advice is to 'restore' your original state to the laptop, which generally erases all files on the current hard drive and restores the laptop to the way it left the factory. See Laptops and netbooks Flex Series Flex 10 Notebook Lenovo Lenovo Support US or Laptops and netbooks Flex Series Flex 10 Notebook Lenovo Lenovo Support US for examples of how to restore your laptop. Consult the owners manual for which process is best for your machine.

Lenovo g410 not charging

Hi,

This is going to be one of three things either your power supply is not giving out enough voltage to charge the battery, have you tried another psu?
If its not the psu then it could be the dc socket being loose on the mainboard or the fuse which controls the charging section has blown which means you need a replacement mainboard. Usually its either the charger or dc socket

Have you tried a different battery. When the system is on, please check your battery settings to see if it is fully charged. Go to Start/Control Panel/Power Options and the very last tab.

This should tell you how much battery power is in. If it is very low it means that your battery is not getting a full charge and this could be the cause of your problem.

Let me know how it goes. Don't forget to vote for me.

Have a lenovo 3000 n200. had just removed skype and needed to restart programme. shut computer down and now it is dead - no result when i press the start button any help please to get going again

Did you run the uninstaller to remove Skype? You may have removed something you should not have, like a your display driver. Anyway for starters, remove the battery and after a minute or so, refit it. This will clear all spurious data and give you a clean start. If still dead, You will need to re-install your operating system from the CD.

Laptop is getting heated very quickly and it is not even giving any backup charging

Try getting a portable laptop cooling system. They're about $10 on Amazon. Simply plug it in to your USB and rest your laptop on the pad. That should keep it cool. If you can't get a cooling pad, try getting two solid pieces of some (wood can work fine) and put one on either side under the laptop. Keep it elevated but away from the heating vent. This way, it's above the surface and the laptop may stay a bit cooler.
For the backup charging problem, you may need a new charger or computer battery. If the battery isn't charging, that means it dead.
