Polaroid tlx04244b shows polaroid logo then screen goes black

Chances are your tcon board is bad, here is the part number, finding one may be difficult CMO 35-D019140

Failed capacitors on main board.could be dry joints...quick way to find out is open back after disconnecting from mains.look for any swollen..split or burnt capacitors...these are black with silver tops...
tutorials on YouTube....if it's just dry joints then as they warm up the solder joint disconnects thus resulting in shutdown.try tip of solder iron on all the connections that look suspect.usually telltale signs are brown flux seepage and cracked solder around connections.

This is tricky. You will have to navigate through the menu in the 'dark'. Remember that when you touch the screen, double touch as you would when you click your mouse. Turn it on, you will see the 'Polaroid' logo and then it goes black. Here you need to double touch in the bottom right corner. This is the settings, it is a big box so dont worry about missing it. Then you double touch on the middle of the left side, this is the display. Then double touch on the lower right side. This is where the brightness bar is. It should reboot the page with a brighter screen and the black goes away. If dont see results, turn it off and try process again. Promise this works, I fixed both of my daughters!

The Inverter is trying to produce the high voltage to light the backlight. It looks like it cannot hold the charge to maintain the high voltage level in order for it to stay on - you get a momentary display at initial power-up thus see the logo. Replace the Inverter board.

hold the select and menu buttons until the apple logo shows up, then quickly switch to holding the select and play buttons, this should put it into "disk mode." plug into itunes and click restore.

likely the old one had a bad inverter or a back light problem.

Try several different inputs.
