There are 2 screws holding it in place you can undue them and pull it out from between the tub and top of washer then splice the switch in. MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG IT FIRST
Go to sears web site and you can see the break down on parts

Changed lid lock switch and won't work

Is the plunger attached to the lid? It is the little prong that goes into the lid switch.

My ge wash machine wbsr1060t2ww will fill with water but then does nothing

You have a bad lid switch. If the lid switch or lid switch circuit is open the motor is not going to run. Trace the lid switch wires and look for any breaks or loose connections. If that circuit is good, then you have a bad capacitor on the motor circuit or the motor is bad. Here is a link to the motor kit should you need it.

Water fills in, but wash cycle won't start. spin cycle works, changed motor still won't work

Its either in the lid switch or timer. Examine the lid switch. Try starting the wash cycle and press in on lid switch to make sure it activates. If the lid switch is good and you dont hear the motor trying to activate during wash than its in the timer. Does the timer advance? Please comment me back If you need further assistance.

Washing machine will not drain water out or spin

set the timer on spin, open the lid and with a screw driver stick it into the hole that the strike on the lid closes down into, see if it spins and drains,if it doesn't lift the screw driver up and push it down into the hole,if you don't hear any clicking at all the switch is bad or if it does start with the screw driver the lid switch also has to be changed out.check this site out, also give the parts store the model number off of your washer to get the correct lid switch or next time send the model number and i can look up the part for you.good luck and let me know how you make out.

Washing machine wont change cycles

Make sure your lid switch is good. Make sure the peg is still on the lid that pushes down on the lid switch. If so you have a bad timer. Sorry, it seems I'm always the bearer of bad news.
Please rate solution.

Won't work

If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.
