SOURCE: i tried adding 2 gb od ram and the screen will not

Make sure it will run clean without the addition of the memory,

They have to be install in pair, not a 2 gig alone (as per the manufacturer) and when installing the pairs they have to be in the same color slot ( they are not side by side).

Gateway desktop fx 7026 memory issue, has 4 slots came with( 2 )2 gb sticks = 4 gigs it came with. when i add 2 extra gig it doesnt recognize.

the specs i read says 8 gig is the max. here is what it says for RAM
RAM
  • Installed Size 4.0 GB / 8.0 GB (max)
  • Technology DDR2 SDRAM
  • Memory Speed 667.0 MHz
  • Form Factor DIMM 240-pin
  • Features Dual channel memory architecture
  • Configuration Features 2 x 2 GB

check to make sure you have added the right type of memory. also look at your user manual. it should tell you where and how to place the added sticks. sometimes they have to be added in pairs or have to be in specific slots. also if you dont have the manual it is on the gateway site. you should type in your model and serial number and get all the info you need.

I have a motherboard called d102ggc2 with max 2 GB capacity. I recently tried upgrading from 1 GB ram to 2 GB ram by adding another 1 GB stick. The problem is that both the sticks are not working together...

Sounds like the second RAM stick was placed in the wrong slot. I would suggest checking your motherboard manual to determine this. Some motherboard designs have unusual slot arrangements.

Wats the most ram for acer 3680 notebook

The most RAM (Random Access Memory) you can ad to a Acer Aspire 3680 Notebook is 2 GB. There is only 2 slots for RAM so I would get two 1 GB RAM sticks for a total of 50$.

Shouldn't be too hard to replace, just flip it over and unscrew the compartment.

Good luck,

2 rams nt working simultaneously

Are they exactly the same brand and model? Sometimes they dont like to mix and match. Say you have the Left and right ram slot. Does each single stick work alone in the left and the right slot? Sounds like you may have a dead ram slot.. :(

PC turns on then quickly turns off

Does it boot fine if you remove the memory you just added? If it does then try switching the memory that was in it before with the memory you just added. You want to first determine if the ram you bought is bad or incompatible.
