Refrigerator digital thermometer settings do not work

If the digital temperature adjustment on your Kenmore refrigerator model 596.72003001 is not working, there are several possible causes and solutions to consider:
  1. Check the power supply: Make sure that the refrigerator is properly plugged in and that the outlet is working. If the outlet is not functioning, try plugging the refrigerator into a different outlet.
  2. Check the temperature sensor: The temperature sensor is responsible for communicating the current temperature to the digital display. If the sensor is malfunctioning or faulty, the display may not show the correct temperature or allow for adjustments. Check the sensor for any visible damage or signs of wear and tear, and replace it if necessary.
  3. Check the control board: The control board is responsible for regulating the refrigerator's temperature and ensuring that the digital display is functioning correctly. If the control board is damaged or malfunctioning, it may need to be replaced.
  4. Reset the refrigerator: Try resetting the refrigerator by unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. This can sometimes help to reset the digital display and restore proper functionality.
If none of these solutions work, it may be necessary to contact a professional appliance repair technician to diagnose and fix the problem.

Unit powers up but display is frozen and no nothing after that. No remote or button response except for display off.

The display microprocessor(computer within your unit) may be bad. This IC is responsible for processing any and all IR(infra red) commands from the remote, as well as scanning all the push buttons on the front of the unit. If you're interested in having your unit repair, please visit me website at audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me there. Thank you.

Remote works at aclose range only 3foot

Limited range of your remote controls could be related to radio frequency interference that comes from something in your home or in the surrounding environment. Certain electrical devices can radiate interference; this could be almost anything that is plugged into an electrical outlet.

Please keep in mind that the device can be brand new, or can be an item that has been in use for quite a while. Also, the item may continue to function properly as far as you are able to tell. The only problem with the item may be that it has started to broadcast the interference, with no other symptoms noted.

Some devices are more likely to generate interference than others. This includes TV cable, cable amplifiers, surge protectors, fluorescent lights, battery charging devices (power tools, golf carts, etc.), anything that utilizes a timer (sprinkler systems, lights, alarm systems, etc.), and a myriad of others. If the problem seems sporadic, we can safely assume that the device responsible for the interference is only being operated during these times. Again, please keep in mind that the age of the device does not determine if it is capable of broadcasting unwanted interference. Any electrical device can be the source of the problem.

The first step is replacing the battery in your remote.

My response 75 since having ablip in power was

We found the problem was with the power. In our case, plugging the adaptor into the power outlet directly, bypassing an extension and checking the outlet was working with a lamp. The error lights you describe were the exact same that we were getting, caused by low battery levels.

Hope that helps someone.

The remote for my Bose Wave radio-CD no longer works. I have changed the battery and put a new battery into another Bose remote--no luck and I want to play my Christmas CDs! Help!

  • Reset the system by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for one minute, then plug it back in

  • Make sure you’re pointing the remote directly at your Wave® music system. If the system is placed above table-top height, be sure to angle the remote upward while pointing

  • Check for possible sources of interference with the remote’s infrared (IR) signal, such as bright lights or solar glare off of a window. Make sure nothing is blocking the path of the signal from the remote to the Wave® music system display. The remote will not work properly if there is something directly in front of the display

  • Wipe off the small clear lens on the front end of the remote

  • The remote is designed to work within 20' of the system. Greater distance may cause intermittent response
