If the decorative stitches you are talking about are on the card that you insert into the machine, the problem can be that the sensor is not seeing the white squares on the bottom of the card itself. Take white paint or a white out liquid paper and "paint" the white squares at the bottom of the card but only the white squares. That will help the sensors "see" which card you have inserted. If that doesn't do it, your sensors are bad and they are not available. Make sure the paint is dry before you put the card back into the machine.

How do I slow my Husqvarna Viking 18 x8 down. It stitches fast and faster, never slow.

To slow down the stitching speed on your Husqvarna Viking 18 x8, you can try the following steps:
  1. Check the machine's manual: First, consult the manual that came with your Husqvarna Viking 18 x8 machine. The manual should have instructions on how to adjust the stitching speed.
  2. Adjust the stitch length: One way to slow down the stitching speed is to adjust the stitch length. A shorter stitch length will slow down the machine's stitching speed. Refer to your machine's manual for instructions on how to adjust the stitch length.
  3. Change the foot pressure: Another way to slow down the stitching speed is to change the foot pressure. Reducing the foot pressure can help slow down the machine's stitching speed. Again, refer to your machine's manual for instructions on how to adjust the foot pressure.
  4. Use a different presser foot: Some presser feet are designed for slower stitching speeds. You can try using a different presser foot to slow down the machine's stitching speed.
  5. Use a speed control pedal: Some machines come with a speed control pedal that allows you to adjust the machine's stitching speed. If your machine has a speed control pedal, try using it to slow down the stitching speed.
If none of these steps help slow down the stitching speed on your Husqvarna Viking 18 x8, you may need to contact a professional technician for assistance.

Viking 6030 stitch width is not working. It does not move right to left and back for decorative stitches and is very narrow

If it's a mechanical machine, most likely the stitch width mechanism is frozen due to old oil. Apply a couple drops of liquid Tri-Flow Synthetic Lube to the stitch width mechanism and then direct hot air from a handheld hairdryer into the area. Repeat as needed until the mechanism moves freely.

How do I center the needle on a Viking 6430; there is no eccentric adjustment on the needle bar frame on this model.

Am having difficulty finding information on this machine.

Perhaps this machine is a left-needle position machine, ie the normal straight stitch sewing position is on the left, not centered. There are quite a few machines out there with this feature, Necchi is another. The needle only swings right when a decorative or zig-zag stitch is selected.

Stitches and Seams Review Viking 6010 Sewing Machine (See #3 under Dislikes.)

If it is actually a center-needle position machine, it is probably out of alignment. There is most likely an adjustment. For more help, you can also join some Viking user groups on Yahoo. Most members are very dedicated to the brand and would be able to provide some very helpful advice.

How do I set the dials on husqvarna viking 6000 sewing machine

The "dial" in the back is for decorative stitches which require a "programmer" to be inserted with the stitch formation you want to form. For a straight stitch no cam is required in the back of the machine. The three dials on the front:

Upper Left: Stitch selector
Upper Right: Stitch lenght
Lower: Stitch width

Using the upper left dial select the straight stitch picture
Using the upper right, choose your stitch lenght
Using the lower, choose your needle position, left/center/right

When using the darning stitch on my 1250 the rows of vertical sewing progressively are off centre...if that makes sense. I am not sure if the same thing is occuring with other stitches or embroideries....

Yes, that indicates the feed stepper needs to be calibrated, the effects will not be apparent on all stitches but it will affect the buttonhole and detailed decorative stitches.

Why won't a brand new stitch D card work in Viking Quilt Designer? Just makes nosie, will not do stitch. Other cards working fine.

Stick with me and I'll see what I can find out.
In the mean time, verify that you are able to do card E1 stitch 24 and card E2 stitch 27. I think you can, but let me know.

Husqvarna Prisma 980 decorative stitch cassettes don't work

Hi,
On that machine, the cassettes aren't actually computer chips. Each cassette has a little spot of white on a certain little area you must find (top right I'm pretty sure). Look in the machine at that point. There is a sensor that looks for that white spot, and as it identifies it, it changes stitches according to that cassette. Either the sensor is blocked, gone bad, or you can put a fresh coat of white paint on with white out. I hope this helps.
