Its a single phase fryer. When the set temperature is reached the electric supply trips.

Check the rating of the electrical circuit breaker where the unit is tapped, it must be at least 25 % higher than the unit' s current rating on nameplate to avoid tripping.
If hi-limit of the unit trips after reaching temperature setting, try lowering the set point; hi-limits are designed to trip off at 450F for safety. Or it may be faulty causing premature or early trip off temperature.

Yes but it would not be economical to do it...it would cost more then sending it back for the correct phasing...to many things to convert and change...they may however be able to send you the proper heating elements and safetys, so that you can convert it...would depend on if the proper elements still fit in the same spaces provided...I would call the company and see what they want to do...
