Make sure battery and charging system are working properly. If charging system is not effectively charging the battery and the battery runs low on charge, the vehicle will start shutting down different electrical units/modules in order to keep the vehicle running
On older units this is a fairly common issue with loose, burned contacts at the battery terminal, battery harness plugs and circuit breaker. Check, clean and lube all the power connectors with a petroleum jelly. Don't use WD-40. Then retighten the connectors. Another issue may be a bad key switch. Intermittent contacts can often be detected by wiggling the key when it starts acting up.
Usually a sign of something draining the battery. The machine test probably showed the battery could hold a charge and the alternator was charging the battery. You may need to have someone check for a power drain. When the key switch is off, there may be a weak short to ground or a relay or component that is using power.
While running take a volt meter and see what voltage is should be 13.50 If not might be statter or voltage regalater Battery is ok It has charging problem MOPAR KENNY
The battery status only shows up when the satnav is disconnected from the charger. Your first charge should be a continuous charge until the battery is full. This can be done by connecting it to your computer for 8 hours approximately or 4 hours to your car cigarette lighter socket or 4 hours to an, optional extra, mains charger.
You indicated that the battery went dead. Does the new battery work correctly? That is, does it show a full charge when you've had it plugged in overnight and disconnect the power? Try plugging it into AC power overnight and verify that the battery is accepting and holding a full charge. If it isn't, then unplug and turn the unit on and allow the battery to run all the way down. Then charge it fully. This resets the charge indicator. You may have to repeat it once. I did this and was able to again show that both my new and my old battery were working o.k. They should show about 8.1 V fully charged.
About the Nexrad problem. In the past I would need to refresh the XM receiver when this happened. XM walked me through it and I have the steps, but the links are no longer working. Maybe it is no longer required since the XM link now jumps to SiriusXM. I've not needed to refresh for a couple of years and I suspect they eliminated that requirement.
To verify that the XM antenna is connected:
Turn unit off.
Connect the XM receiver.
Simultaneously press "on" and "enter" keys- hold both until data screen appears, which takes about 5 seconds.
Second line from bottom indicates if it is seeing the XM receiver. This helps isolate where the problem is- i.e. if you have a faulty receiver, bad connection or a software problem. The only contact I know of now is Garmin 800-800-1020. They can give you the XM contact if the problem is on that side of the unit.
There is other data here which may be of interest to you on this page.
Turn unit off to close this window.
If you need your XM radio ID, turn 396 on.
Press menu, menu, scroll to XM, then right to Info.
XM Receiver ID is there. Write it down in case you talk to XM or they give you a way to refresh.
There are other menus you can get into but if they show a problem I don't know the solution other than contacting Garmin and I don't have my XM receiver home so can't verify the steps.
I got hold of Canon support. I had the same problem. Got a new battery, fully charged and would not run the unit. Canon told me to do a system reset. pull out main battery and aux battery (bottom of unit) and to power switch to aux for 90 seconds. the put batteries back and it should work. Hope this helps.
Take out the battery, then take out the sim card and the storage card for about a minute hen put back the battery in just the battery. Pushed the power button and then push both of the soft keys, which the keys above home key and the back key, then check if that will power ON the unit if it does you can power it off and put the sim card and memory back in. But if still same problem I will advice you to try a different battery just to check if the battery is bad or something more is causing the problem.
The EU3000 is a gel-pack (spill-proof) battery. Using a 10mm wrench or socket, remove the four (4) screws that hold the end cover on the machine.
Use a voltage meter and test the battery at rest (no load, not running). You should see 12 or higher volts DC. Record the voltage and then start the unit manually. Turn the ECO throttle "OFF" so the unit revs up to full RPM. You should see 14 or higher volts DC to verify that the charging system is OK.
The conclusion:
If the 12V test shows less than 10VDC, replace battery.
If the 14V test shows less than 12VDC, have a HONDA AUTHORIZED shop diagnose it for you.
