Check and replace the micro-switch of the power button. You have to open the TV to replace it. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

SOURCE: No Picture

I called Vizio, was told I needed a hard reset, and this fixed my problem: I unplugged the TV; held down the on button for one minute, then plugged it back in. It works fine now.

Menu button stopped responding

If only one button does not work at all or all do not work the unit may have a lock out feature that would be explained in the owners manual.

Need code for my vizio tv i bought a ihip remote control for my tv

The instructions on letting the Hipi remote to seach for the code that came with my remote are not correct. I used the instructions from HOWTO.COM and printed below. There are two changes from the printed instructions. The first is to push the <TV> button after the <Code Search> button. The second is that the <Enter> button saved the code not the <MUTE> button.

Instructions
1
Turn on the Vizio TV.
2
Aim the Jumbo Universal Remote at the Vizio TV and hold down the "Code Search" button on the remove for roughly 3 to 5 seconds. The LED lights on the Jumbo Universal Remote will come on.
3
Press the "TV" button at the top of the Jumbo Universal Remote.
4
Start pressing the "ON/OFF" button repeatedly until the Vizio TV turns off. (This took only a few tries for my Vizio TV)
5
Press "Enter" on the remote immediately after the Vizio TV turns off to save the code.
6
Test the Jumbo Universal Remote by trying to control the Vizio TV with the remote. If the control doesn't work with the remote, repeat the entire process.

Have an RCA remote i am trying to use with my Vizio 1080p hdtv. Instructions on the universal remote are as follows: -Turn on TV -Press and hold "code search" untill light stays lit. release. -Press TV...

Newer brands of tvs are using new codes that old remotes don't have. Only older learing remotes from original remotes or USB upgradable or newer one that were made after the tv was made will work.

Guide button only works for curent program (first push) . Second push should bring up full program menu, but instead it just goes back to tv show.

I had the same problem with my 37L and 42L Vizio TVs but my 26w vizio TV guide works perfectly. on 12/28/2009 I called vizio about the problem and they said that Vizio lost a law suit with a company (tech didn't tell me the company name) that said that Vizio did not own the "TVGUIDE" technology b/c the other company invented it first. So, Vizio was forced to turn this feature off in their new TV's so that's why my guide button with older Vizio 26" TV (bought in 2007) works and my newer 37" and 42" Vizio TV's (Bought in 2008) do not even though the instructions are still in their user manuals which the tech said will be removed in future user manuals.

Vizio VX37L 37'' LCD HDTV Television not turning on

Unplug set and hold and press the power button for about a minute. Replug set and turn it on. If nada, then the issue is with the power supply of the set. Given its age and the high cost of repairs it might be more cost effective to get a new set.
