Kingston DataTraver USB Device is not working as it is not fully recognized.

When the Kingston Data Traverler Mini is plugged, it installs drivers succesfully, and a drive letter is asign to it. However whentrying to opening it it sends out the following message "Please insert a disk into Removable Disk (E);". I see the drivers working properly in the Device Manager as I plug and unplug the USB Device, and if I use the Disk Management option from the Computer Management Tool, I see the Disk there, categorized as a Removable(E:) with No Media and no content whatsoever.

SOURCE: "Plsase insert a disk in the drive" message for USB drive

Up to you,, if you put a flash drive into your USB port, and windows see's the drive, because its listed under my computer, but when you go to open the drive it says, please insert disk

This is telling you the flash drive has failed.

The only good thing is, if you have anything on the drive, there are programs that will extract the data from the drive so you don't lose it.

You have three options,

Extract the data that is on the drive.

Try a repair program, which can erase the drive when it tries ti repair it.

Send the flash drive to the company for repair.

I buy kingston 16gb data traveler usb im try to conact to my pc its not working and showing window not recognize that device.can i get help to solve the problem.thanks

Hello,
Try re-inserting it a few times.
If not recognised, click for troubleshooting and see driver details. If it says that device drivers either not required or not installed, it means the device drivers required to make the data traveller function are not installed in it.
This is a manufacturing defect.
You can get a replacement for free from your dealer.

Tell me what happens.
I am following up.

Regards.

Bios no option to Boot from usb Cd rom broken

Floppy works right? So you need to boot from floppy disk, install USB drivers in DOS and then access an external USB device... whew. OK, so getting a dos 6.22 boot disk is easy, then you have to load a DOS-level USB device driver that 'recognizes the chipset in your USB controller/port and can turn it 'ON'

Go here and READ ;-) They have everything you need (except for my expert help)
http://www.bootdisk.com/usb.htm

Good luck!
P.S. There are many DOS-level drivers out there, if you don't find one for your PC, make a noise and I'll see if I can help

W98SE Driver for Kingston 1.0Gb DataTraveller Flash Drive

The people at your local computer shop are wrong but, Windows 98 should at least recognize the USB thumb-drive and ask for drivers.
I would remove all the USB Controllers from within Device Manager and restart; allow Windows upon restart to reload the USB Controllers; then plug in the drive and see if Windows at least recognizes and then install drivers.
It seems only the DTI/XX, KUSBDTE/XX, and DTII/XX support Windows 98.
