GE over the range microwave buzzing then blowing fuse

If the buzzing is like the sound of someone using an arc welding then the is a possible loose connection on the high voltage side- from the HV transformer to the magnetron.

Be very careful. The HV capacitor can give you an electric shock even when power is OFF.

Something continues to run when door is shut and microwave is off

Replace your microwave to prevent electric shock. Yes it is most likely the fan still on, which makes you vulnerable to electric shock. Hope that helps

Loud sound while on

This website should have all the information necessary for you to fix your microwave. http://www.partselect.com/microwave+no-heat+repair.htm Be careful if you try to repair your microwave yourself and make sure to disable the proper parts before attempting a repair so you don't have a risk of being shocked. Keep in mind that often times microwave repairs cost more than buying a new microwave, so you should just consider buying a new one, if a complicated repair is necessary.

Microwave just stopped working one minute working one minute no power no display (about 20 years old) can we troubleshoot and repair ourselves?

sounds like fuse may have blown..if light doesnt come on inside then that is possibly what is wrong..the fuse is inside the case and u have to take the outside off to get at it...make sure the power cord isnt plugged into the wall and do not touch anything else inside the unit ..there is a big capacitor inside that can give a very very bad shock....or the logic board is not good..if that is the case then it is not worth repairing

GE Spacemaker brand new, just installed will not heat anything

Have you tested the electricl outlet to b e sure it is working? If so: Return it! The unit is defective and the megatron tube either got broken, wasn't installed, or something.

No Power

It sounds like the fuse blew inside the unit. It can be replaced, but you need to find out what caused it. There are also thermal switches that will turn off the unit if it overheats. They are called "snap discs" because they have only one setting and will shut the unit down to protect it.

If you aren't familiar with this kind of work, do not attempt repairs. Take it to an appliance shop. It could be anything and a competent appliance shop will tell you if it's worth fixing.

Danger! You can receive a serious electrical shock from the components inside your microwave oven--even when it's unplugged. Only a qualified appliance repair technician should perform any repair.

It doesn't work at all
It sounds normal, but there's no heat
I can't adjust the power level
The carousel won't turn
I have intermittent cooking problems
The display flickers
There's no heat, but it buzzes loudly
It quit after I slammed the door
It looks like there's lightning (arcing) inside my microwave

hope this may help;

Microwave not making any sound, or heating. control panel works!

This microwave probably has a serious electrical problem...a defective magnetron or rectifier. It should probably be checked by someone who is familiar with electrical repairs...there can be high voltage inside and a danger of electric shock, even when the oven is off.
