some of these laminators have to warm up. if the laminating strip is burned out it may do what your saying because it is resting and then trying to warm the laminator strip again.

It will beep when you turn it on to acknowledge power. It will also beep when it reaches ready condition. Your laminator has safety switches for the lower feed tray and upper heat shield. Any time the upper shield is lifted the power is shut off. When you lower it down the power is turned back on, causing a beep. The same is true for the lower feed table. When it is removed and then re installed the machine beeps. These are safety features so that the laminator doesn't turn on when you are reloading it or unjamming it. Check that the safety switches are fully engaged if you get unnecessary beeping.

It sounds like a broken tooth in the roller gear. It advances about the same as the diameter of that roller. Best just replace it.

I called Swingline and they told me to unplug the machine for 45 minutes to an hour, and then try again. (This resets the machine supposedly.) If there are additional problems, I was told, you may have to look into warranties, etc.
