Oil pressure is 60 psi with engine not running, jumps to 80 when engine starts

so where your eyes look at to see 60, ?
the dash?
or a real gauge , at the block, port. (gallery)

you must learn 2 things, about dash gauges
  1. they are not really instruments. not even close, more toy like.
  2. and some return to zero others do NOT.
many cars made, you key off and the gauges, freeze.
this is nothing new and is normal.

use the scan tool yet and look for DTC errors from the cluster?
in any event.
id concerned about engine oil pressure , try a real gauge.
if concerned about just the dash gunge?, then scan it first. then do the self tests shown in the FSM.

this car the PCM sense oil pressure data via the PCI bus
to the cluster and then it displays this data.
im not sure which years return to zero.
the PCM gets its DATA from the oil pressure sender.
if the pCM shows the data to bee good using a scan tool
then we check for errors on the PCI buss. if that is good
the display is bad, if the data is wrong. there.

here is the path of data. in text
sender>>> pcm>>> pci bus>>>> cluster.>>> gauge.

see the FSM page , 1 or 9 pages just for the cluster. page 7

factory service manual or alldata.com
either.

TX58UN-IT transmit icon is on, does not measure rain.

I had this problem and after 7 days I've heard nothing back from LaCrosse. Problem appears to be a non-functioning magnetic reed switch inside the circuitry housing. It's easy to remove the cover with a tiny phillips screwdriver (mind the small and delicate gasket/o-ring). Then the circuit board is held in with two more tiny philips screws at the bottom of the housing. Removing and replacing the switch will require a low-wattage soldering pencil. I used a Standex-Meder part number ORD228VL-1015 from Digi-Key. Only a couple $, cheap, fast shipping. It appears to be an EXACT replacement.

Ford Dash lights burned out

Hi, For my pontiac it was a simple kryptonite 12v, 50Ma bi-pin bulb from radio shack. A simple solder procedure. One very wise bit of information I received when I took mine apart was to make sure to mark the true zero position of all gauge set pins before removing cover to access circuit board lighting. To do this I placed small piece of tape on cover near all zero positions of each gauge, moved all gauge pins to true absolute zero position, marked the tape where the pin is at, then safely removed pins with a dining fork for easy even leverage preventing cracking the gauge pins. Once you complete your repair, simply press gauge pins back in place and dial them to properly align them back to the actual zero marks you made on your tape. My project (bulb replacement) was perfectly successful and glad to have gauges read correctly without having to do the job twice, good luck with yours!

I have an Audi TT Coupe - 2002 - and the gas gauge suddenly started reading 1/4 tank too high. I took the car in to dealer - they hooked it up to their computer and said ''internal failure'' - need to...

Rick, Unfortunately, you aren't alone. This is a fairly common problem on the Audi. Price of the panel replacement is in line. Just get a warranty on the panel, in case its a sending unit problem instead of the panel.

No gauges, most idiot lights displayed, water leaking in on drive

There'a s a rainwater collecting vessel just above the back of your dash board instruments where the wires and connectors are. The vessel might be already corroded and leaking. The leaking water short circuited your connections. Check all the fuses and look for the source of leak then fix it.
