Display screen will not come on

It apparently turns on since the screen lights up, however, nothing shows up as if the PC is not functioning.

Look in your manual and find out how to do a 'hard reset'.
If this info is not in the manual, take it back to the retailer and get them to do it.

My Kobo Aura HD's comfort light is off and I can't find a way to turn it back on.

On the top of the e-reader, to the left of the on/off slider (looking at the screen) there is a push button on/off switch for the light. Once the light is turned on (and there is a 'star' symbol on the screen, the brightness can be adjusted by touching the 'star' and using your finger to slide the brightness control).

The screen will not power on

If your Q1 won't turn on and the charging light just flickers, most likely you have inadvertently shifted the Hold slider button and your Q1 is on Hold. The Hold function prevents most functions on the Q1 from operating.
To get your Q1 to turn on, shift the Hold slider button so that Hold is turned off.

this button should be on the side of the device

Hi,
Might be an LCD problem.
Notice if the LCD monitor turns black when you turn it on, turns gray if you turn it off. That means the problem is the LCD, back light/inverter is not functioning anymore.
Tell if that happens.

Thanks for asking FixYa!

Screen problems on Toshiba Portege R100

Right click on the computer's destop and view the display properties. Under the tab where you can alter resolution you can manage multiple monitors, It sounds like your laptop is setup to display through it's external VGA by default. Click on the two squares it shows and try to set your main screen as default.

My screen is showning flickering white lights

Hi, To confirm that indeed you laptop CPU is working normally, you can try plugging an external monitor. This will also verify that your onboard video or memory is not the issue. Assuming you have tried the above, as to the screen flashing, it can probably be the LCD panel display. It can either be the video converter or your backlight inverter (or CCF fluorescent tube). Any of the two would require opening the display panel and component level repair. Should you not be comfortable cracking the display open and circuit analysis/diagnosis, you may need the services of a qualified professional. Hope this give you an idea and work out for you. Good luck and post again how things turn up or if you need further information. Kind regards.
