Does anything come on (conpressor) in the condensor outside? If you put your ear to the outside unit can you hear a 60 cycle buzz?

check your circuit breakers labeled a/c unit inside your house panel

you have a electric box near the outdoor unit it will contain fuses or a circuit breaker check it

check wiring outside near the unit to be sure it intact(small thermostat wire if it is not encased)

look for a reset button near where the refrigeration lines hook up

Possible common causes are:

  • Burned out start windings on your condenser cooling fan motor. Replace the fan motor.
  • Start capacitor has failed. If the capacitor looks bulged or swollen, it'll need replacing. Take the capacitor to an HVAC service center so they can match the microfarad rating for proper service.

THE FAN IN THE OUTSIDE UNIT IS NOT WORKING. INSIDE UNIT RUNS BUT NO COOL AIR IS COMING OUT OF VENTS. IS THERE A REST BUTTON OLN THE OUTSIDE UNIT?

either the fan has went out or the capisitor for the fan is bad and needs to be replaced.if you have run the outside unit very long without the fan turning you might be replacing the compressor as well as the fan or capisitor.if the fan isnt pulling air through the cond coil outside, the compressor gets very hot very fast, and it locks down(burns up). get it looked at asap before it cost more because of other broken parts caused by the fan not working.

Fan not working on a Bryant air conditioning system

If is the inside fan could be a fan relay , the capacitor ,or the fan motor itself ; if the problem is with the outside fan , first check for bunrt wires , or could be the fan capacitor or the fan motor itself.

Bryant central air unit fan doesn't stop.

This is a condenser fan and as long as the A/c unit is in cool mode, this fan will run. The only time it should shut off is when temperature setting is satified and the unit shuts off.
