How do i recharge the ac on a 2002 Lincoln Continental?

to charge car uses 134a freon, you get a can at parts store, can has a hose and gauge already on it. hose end only fits your low side suction port ,it slides on and snaps /holds in place,do as can instructions say, DONT OVER FILL 134A SYSTEM IS WORSE THEN UNDERCHARGE AND YOULL PAY ALOT MORE FOR OVERCHARGE TO GET REPAIRED THEN A JUST RECHARGE SERVICE.MOST OIL CHANGE SERVICE OFFER A/C RECHARGING,Me id go to someone that has ASE tech certified in AC

I have a 1993 5.0 Mustang GT and I can't get power to my aircondiction compressor I have power at my pressure switch on my dryer but can't get power at the compressor

you need to buy a recharge can of 134a that has a gage and hose attached, your a/c will not work if there is not enough pressure in the system. buy one of these recharge kits at your local auto store they run about $25.00.follow the enclose instructions on how to use it. Again if there is not enough pressure or if the system it is over pressurized than the compressor will not operate. by having the Gage you are going to know exactly the pressure of the system.Make sure you get the kit with the 134a and sealer in one can recharge kit.

I just bought the chevy and the ac doesnt wrk. it probably needs freon 45000 mi. how much freon should i charge? whats the best solution

Hello,
In 1994 most U.S vehicles moved to R-134a a/c system, in 1995 all U.S vehicles had this system.
You can buy the freon at any auto parts store, the large can is around $15.00.
The R-134a stsem allows anyone to recharge their own system.

How do you recharge the air conditioning system for a 97 cadillac

Just get an R134a recharge kit, and follow the instructions.

The kit contains canisters of oil and R134a and a hose with a gauge on it.

Add about 2 or 3 cans of refrigerant on a system where the refrigerant leaked out.

One may also want to add leak sealer. which comes in a can like the pure 134a.

I need to retrofit and recharge my 1988 Dodge Ram Ac.

First, the old R-12 must be completely evacuated fromt the system. R-12 and R-134A do not mix and won't function together. Once you are sure there's no R-12 left in the system, you need to install an R-134A fill valve on the low side AC line. This is where your refill hose will connect to add R-134A. Once the valve is in place you're ready to fill the system. The compressor requires a minimum of 20psi to engage and should not be filled to more than 45psi.

RECHARGING AC SYSTEM

1.Turn the truck on and turn AC on HIGH
2.Locate the low side AC line (will have a valve and cap similar to the cap on a tire)
3.Insert the oil or R-134A can to the hose (Do not turn the screw to puncture the can yet)
4.Insert the other end of the refill hose to the low side valve
5.Puncture the R-134A can with the screw on the refill hose
6.You should feel the system suction the refrigerant out of the can
7.Check for frost on the AC lines and the air blowing inside the truck
8.If frost develops and the air is cold, you've successfully recharged the system and disconnect the refill hose. DO NOT ADD MORE REFRIGERANT...overcharging the system will damage your compressor and will be less effective
Hopefully this answers your question and you're able to get your AC working again. Best of luck.

No air conditioning-needs recharge- with what?

There are a lot of products out there for recharging cooling systems. R-134a is the current coolant that is being used. Wal-Mart and most other parts stores will have an easy to use recharging kit built for r-134a ready systems (a 1998 would have the proper seals and oils).

The ac only blows warm air, have recharged it with freon but it only cools minutes before blowing warm again, could find no leaks

There are special cans of R-134A with dye in them for detecting leaks. Most leaks occur around the fittings near the compressor. Recharge the system with the leak detector can or R-134A. There are also cans of R-134A with an additive to stop leaks. I would use these products to either detect your leak or to stop it. Best of luck.

I tried to recharge the system with fresh 134a,

Is the radiator fan running with the A/C on? If not, check that. If yes replace the expansion valve.
