I have a under counter ice maker, it was off for a wile, it makes avery small amont of ice.

Make sure normal drain line (located under the ice) is not clogged. Check gaskets and seals. Also make sure everyone who uses it closes the door completely and does not leave it cracked open. And make sure no one has screwed any thing into it and punctured through it. A screw alone will not keep the water in.

There is ar thin metal bar that checks for the level of ice on the bucket if the bar is bent our broken it will keep making ice all day

The bin full detector is not working--replace it.

your cooling matchine get dameged and somewhere connecting wires are leaked.

Is this an under counter ice maker or is the ice under the counter?

I ran into this problem a year ago.
The water valve is leaking thru so you are getting a very small continuous amont of water feeding to the ice maker. This will build up and ice will form ontop of ice. The water valve is suppose to send 1/2 cup of water or so everytime the ice maker calls for make. Sometimes the watervalve will not close 100% like it should. This is an older model so it should have a connection on the back side right behind the ice maker where the water tube feeds. Pull this off or untighten the nut if there is one. The should be water coming out (not heavy but very little) and it continuous. Thats how to check this problem before you start buying parts. It is on the back of the machine, if you have clear ice maker, it may be on the back of the front plate.

The water circulating pump may have gone bad, or control board is not working properly.

pls post make /model.
if ignis / whirlpool then above points should the trick.

lastly reclaim gas replace both driers recharge with fresh gas to spec( liquid by weight).
