Error code E3 keeps coming up during a wash cycle. Not all the time but when it does the machine wont work. you can hear it trying to work but nothing happens. Sometimes it occurs at the beginning of a wash other times the load is almost done. I have tried unplugging it and plugging back in - sometimes this works. Other times it doesnt. I have also tried manually moving the drum one direction and then the other - again this occasionally works. I can do many loads and not have any issues and then all of a sudden - doesnt matter what I do it wont work. Then after Ive taken laudry to laundormat- go to use again and it will work. Very Sporatic.

e3 is a motor sensor not reading the motor properly un plug the unit for 5min and try it that will clear it but you may need a new sensor check the connectors at the motor sensor

WHAT IS THE MAKE AND MODEL NUMBER?

SOURCE: getting error E3
3E == overcurrent detected at the motor.
Open the control panel, there you will find a tech sheet that explains how to put the machine into service mode and what to do while in service mode to track this down. Once on service mode, you can cycle through and retrieve all diagnostic codes. You will also find serveral other diagnostic service notes. Read them and follow the instructions to test the motor, motor control, and main control board. Hope this helps.

“E3” code – Machine control is attempting to drive the motor but is not seeing any tach
response. Visual Check shows motor is not moving. (Locked or Hall Sensor fault.)
Possible causes of ‘E3’ codes:
1. Spin drum stuck – Verify that the spinner moves freely to eliminate this cause.
2. Hall Sensor fails or is loose – When the Hall Sensor fails or becomes dislodged, the control
doesn't recognize that the motor is spinning and shuts down. The result will likely be an “E3”
code in the worst case, or “SUdS” if it is only getting a partial rpm reading. Check wire
harness connector(s) to motor.
Hall Sensor – PCB that is located on the back of the motor that senses motor rpm. It is not a
separate part, but rather an integral part of the motor.
SOURCE: At the middle of my load there was stop with code symbol E3
E3 is that the machine can't see that the motor is spinning. Could either be a loose connector at the motor or a loose hall-effect sensor. this might be a fairly easy fix for a repair tech,
Thank you for your post, friend!
I understand that your Electrolux washer is displaying an "E3" error code while it is spinning. However, it appears "E3" is an invalid error code. It is possible that the error code is missing characters? I suggest resetting your washer. You can do this by flipping the household circuit breaker for roughly ten minutes. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, and your washer continues to display "E3" I would recommend contacting a professional to come and properly diagnose your appliance. -Matt
