How are you connecting to the internet?
1. Wireless
2. Wired
This can have an effect on the speed. A wired connection is not subsceptable to any interference and wont slow down from it.
A wireless connection can be slow because of the router, other things that broadcast radio signals, other things that broadcast non radio signals (like flourescent lights.)
How are you testing the speed? Unless you go to a website that has a speed test program or you are running a speed test application, there is no way to know for certain that your speed is what you believe it is. Your speed can also change due to the amount of people on the internet and other things like equipment failure outside your house.

Impossible to answer without more information: is it wireless? Did you try using a cable? Are you in a very populated area with lots of routers with wifi around you? Then dinding out which channel the router is on is important. Use a network analyzer to find out which channels are in use and choose a channel that is at least 2 away from others. Also run tests on several points at home to find if the antennas of the router need pointing in another direction. And of course: what abo for internet do you have? Fiber is much faster than ADSL. Fiber will need a faster router attached to enter wifi at a fast rate. Good luck finding out!!
Can you elaborate more on the type of device you are trying to connect to your WiFi or if every WiFi device you have is experiencing issues connecting to the internet?
Welcome to Fixya. The 130Mbps is the connection speed to the router. Not to the Internet.
You will get a reported130Mbps, But, you arent really getting 130Mbps. of connection speed, its false. Try to check the package of your internet connection and run a speed test on both computer using Speedtest.net to test the real speed of your internet connection.
If you have question please let me know. Thanks using Fixya.
I pulled out my Asus card, looked up the card model and downloaded the correct driver. Looks like the windows update or the Dell update must have caused the driver to get whacked. Hope this fixes your issue as well.
How do I get internet away from my house on my archos 605 wifi, I can get it on my BTHUB in the house, is there a list of HUB I can conect to. when I try to conect a list comes up but they are all locked
regard to G it can transfer signal up to 54mbps and nano tech have even come to point now as its 130mbps more that ethernet cable
but it depends on the factors such as heavy wall , and other interference such as sky , heavy speakers microwave , bulgrar alarm so on with network booster like netgear it works 2 boost the wireless signal, regards 2 comparision 1 has advantage over the other
