With the use of a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server, you can automate the administration of IP addresses for printers. However, you may want your printer to have a static IP address. To set up a static IP address on a Ricoh Aficio C811 color printer, follow the steps below.
1. When the printer is powered on and ready, press the Menu button. 2. Using the up or down arrows, scroll down through the menu to Host Interface and press OK. 3. Scroll down to Network and press OK. 4.Machine IPv4 Address is the first option on the network menu; click OK when it is highlighted. 5. You will see two options -- Auto-Obtain (DHCP) and Specify, and below them are three tabs -- IP Add., Subnet M, and Gateway. Scroll down so that Specify is highlighted, and then press the arrow button below the left-most tab (IP Add.). 6. Using the up and down arrows to change the numeric value, enter the IP address you want to use for the printer. Use the side arrows to go to the next part of the address once you've entered the value for the current octet. 7. Once you've entered the complete IP address, press OK. (If you want to cancel out without saving the new address, press Escape instead.) 8. If you need to specify a subnet mask and gateway address, you can enter those values in the same way, by selecting each of the corresponding tabs on the IPv4 menu (Subnet M and Gateway, respectively). 9. After you've entered all of the information and saved each address, make sure Specify is highlighted and press OK. You should see "Programmed" displayed on the screen.
10. Turn the machine off and then back on to apply the changes and reset the network connection.
Press "Menu"
Scroll to "IO sub menu" Enter
Scroll to "TCP/IP" Enter
Scroll to "Manual settings" Enter
You can see the saved IP address, it can be change, enter desire IP address...enter for save the changes....back to main menu.. To confirm: (You can follow the above said method to see the saved IP) OR
Press "Menu"
Scroll to "Information menu" Enter
Scroll to "Print menu map" Enter
Printer prints menu map, you cam see the entered IP address here, if you found its success, if not try once again..
From the operator panel saying "ready". Scroll through the menus to "Network Menu", then scroll to "Standard Network", then to "STD Net Setup", then "TCP/IP", then "Set IP Address". Once you make the desired changes (move through octets using "select" changing numbers using "menu"), make sure to save by pressing the select button until it says "saved".
suggest you connect a pc directly to the printer via ethernet cable or network switch with the computer temporarily having its ip address changed to what ever the printer ip address range was.
Then run bradmin and change the printers ip address to the router's range suggest a high ip address not sure what you are using but 192.168.1.250 or it might need 10.0.0.250 what is the router using. May need to change dhcp server to lease only to 249
to be safe.
Then when you have changed the ip address fix the ip address of the computer and then reconnect it all back the way it was
If you have the same model, on the back of the printer next to the ethernet port is a little button/ hole. Push and hold that down for a couple seconds until it starts printing. It will print out the IP address. Manually assign your computer to have an IP address in the same range (I.E. if the printer says 192.168.1.23, set your computer to 192.168.1.29 with the same subnet mask, etc.). Plug a network cable from your computer directly into the printer. Then, you can change the settings.
Try flashing the firmware: one of the fixes is this - (Improved IP address management of DHCP to Manual changes). See link below.Firmware GerbenPeople tend to evaluate events in light of their paradigm rather than evaluate their paradigm in light of events.
Hi, Switch off the printer and press * & enter key together &switch on wait till you see " permanent storage int" then release button your printer comes back to original defaults then re-configure printer as you require
This is late but most likely the IP address is set to DHCP or auto and the printer is changing the IP address.
You need to set it to manual, and set the IP address static.
Those machines will change the IP address by itself.
Sometime even when you have set it manually it will change back to auto.
