I don't know about a E5 error; are you sure it's not a 5E error? That means a drain error or "water not draining" error. Check the drain pump and drain hose for an obstruction. If that's okay, and the dishwasher drains water, then you probably have a bad ECS sensor.

While the exact cause of the E5 error on a dishwasher will vary depending on the brand you have, the most common reason for the error has to do with the water supply or draining mechanism. Fixing this error, in most cases requires you to either replace or repair the faulty component.
Fisher and Paykel Dishwasher Dishdrawer Error Code E5 = The first 3 program indicator lights are flashing. Error Code Cause: Water supply hose is crimped or bent. Drain hose is too low. Water tap not turned on. Not enough water supply pressure.

Make sure the water inlet tap under sink is fully opened. The water pressure in mains could be lower than the setting on the dishwasher. Assuming it is DW60. See this manual.
According to people who have had this problem before (error code E5 means blockage in the drain circuit) have solved it by
1:Remove the metal front panel from the dishwasher. this may be hidden by you kitchen kickboard its held on with 5 posi screws. 2: find a round black plasitc lump, similair to a yoyo!. 3:remove the rubber pipe that goes into it and blow down the pipe(you will hear air blowing into the dishwasher) then blow into the plasitc lump(you should hear it rattle) 4:put it all back together.
The black plastic lump is the pressure sensor, water gets stuck in it so the dishwasher thinks theres water inside so tries to pump it out but the pressure sensor still says there is water in so you get the error. Blowing through clears the water.
It is also a good idea to use dishwasher cleaner kit now and then- this is available from the super market in the dishwasher detergent section and is used with an empty dishwasher. Will get rid of all the muck that collects in the hoses and the drain.
tried to take off the drain hose, but could not get it off the back, only by the disposal. I turned if off and on about 6 times and ran the delime cycle with lots of limeaway. It got the E5 error on the delime cycle, but it worked the next time I tried to run it.
The manual does say to turn it off and on as it drains out the water. Takes a while as it has to heat up the water each time.
