JVC HD 56FN97 No RED color

A few months before Bulb fused and replaced then no red color coming. More purple and Greenish. Last week bought a new tv and now digging more on JVC TV. visually i cant see any problem in parts. disconnecting each ribbon cable to light engine Blue Green & Red individually and found no color difference in RED. Then i removed the Control PCB-LCA90635 and removed the color engine(a full block with lens and mirrors) and found one clear plastic glass burned and melted with over heat, took it that glass and fix everything back but still the same problem no red. Is this the color engine problem or control pcb ?

SOURCE: I have a JVC HD-ILA

I only have bad news for you. This tv uses an engine assembly. It is impossible to replace the color wheel only. The entire assembly is quite expensive and wouldn't be worth replacing for a tv of that age. (By expensive, I mean roughly $400-$600, before labor). To replace the assembly the tv is basically broken completely down for this repair too and thus very expensive for labor as well.

Sorry for the bad news, but with no warranty you seem to be out of options. Some people choose to just live with the color issues, while saving for a new tv.

Thank you and have a nice day! :)

JVC HD-56FN97 when turned on blue light is solid, red ligt blinks a few times and goes out. My picture is very dark despite adjustments I make in the menu, any help or feed back apreciated.

The set does use a lamp for a light source and average life is 2 years or 2000 hours---many lamps before they actually fail get to be darker.

I had a TV do that about a year ago, the repair man said it was the color wheel inside the tv. I changed the bulb to see if he was BS'ng me and eventually got the manufacturer to send a color wheel and I change it myself, was very easy...TV works fine ever since. Hope this helps

Poor quality picture. specifically the red is brown and can't be adjusted. the tv is about 3 years old.

If the picture is replace the lamp. Lamp only affects brightness if the color is wacked replace the light engine.

Gray spots on screen on a JVC HDILA model HD 56G 787

The HD-ila sets accumulate a lot of dust in the light engine. The worst offender is the little fold mirror just under the lens. I take my set apart about every 8 months or so to clean all the dust from the light tunnel and all lenses, mirrors, diffusers etc. The picture really regains it's pop when this is done. Unless you are a skilled technician though, I would recommend against attemptimg this procedure as you need to disconnect the individual color lcds. Check with a local service center to get it properly cleaned.

Make sure the bulb is seated properly in it's hole. It has to be an exact fit or it won't work.
